Re: The Ordinary's BHA (30%) and AHA (2%) Peeling Solution

I stocked up on TO peel and the niacinamide also. I got both shipped free. I cocktail the NAM with a vit C serum and I like it that way. @monicakm

Re: The Ordinary's BHA (30%) and AHA (2%) Peeling Solution

Everything I put on my face, I also put on the back of my hands and fingers...except for the BHA/AHA.  I don't know why I didn't think of it.

From the TO website:

Note: This formula contains a very high concentration of free acids. We recommend use only if you are an experienced user of acid exfoliation and your skin is not sensitive.

@wildcat fan

I use the Buffet and RHSO.  Totally different uses.  And RHSO goes on after your moisturizer according to all the videos I've watched.  I think TO's adviser said the same thing but I might be mistaken.  Oil on top of everything is supposed to "lock" everything in.  RHSO is also good for inflammation and can be used elsewhere.  I put it on my bone on bone knee to help with inflammation.  Sometimes I think it helps and sometimes not.

Maybe the skin sloughing off depends on the condition of your skin.  That's never happened to me even when I left it on for 10 minutes (which I'll never do again!)

Niacinamide is supposed to help with brown spots and discoloration from pimples.  I've got one lone light brown spot on my face.  Not sure what it's from since my vampire self shuns the sun!  So far it hasn't lighten from the TO products but it's only been 2-3 months.

I managed to get burned by this peel. The first time was fine after the 10-minute wait. But the second time it burned me and I left it on the same amount of time, 10 minutes. Now I have patches of hard dry skin, mostly on the lower part of my face...uuggh. I know I'm going to be peeling and flaking in the next few days. I think I'm going to cut the wait time to 8 minutes, no longer than that. I really liked it the first time. My skin was so smooth and soft. I want that back.

@SilleeMee  - sorry that happened.  Did you use it too soon a 2nd time?  How many days did you wait?

@San Antonio Gal

I waited a week. But since I use RetinA I think my skin might be sensitive. Another thing about the peel is after I rinse it off I can see my damp skin sloughing off as I blot it dry with a towel. Does that happen to you?

@SilleeMee  - my skin did not slough off.  I haven't used this since it got cold outside.  I'm due for another application.   Hope you get back to normal quick.

Thank you @San Antonio Gal

It's getting much better fast. I bought some jojoba butter and it's doing wonders! I've used the oil for years but the butter takes it to a new level. It's like a healing miracle balm...I can't get over it.

On Walmart dot com. I stumbled upon it when I was looking for some organic jojoba oil. A third party seller, H&B Oils Center. I just wanted to try a tiny bit and that one offered free shipping so I got it and now I'm hooked. I found their company website, OilsCenter dot com and they carry a lot of organic stuff. The jojoba butter is a product of Israel. I use it straight out of the jar. Amazing stuff for irritated skin. It's 100% pure and organic.

Also for anyone using this (or any acid like this), be sure that your skin is totally dry.  As with trentinoin, you should wait about 20 minutes after washing your face before you apply.
