I recently started a thread about short fingernails being currently on trend. Although this look seems to be dominating the manicure scene, a responder to my post said that actually the new trend is pointed. I had seen that look on Lady Gaga, but not out in the real world.

I was watching the latest Millionaire Matchmaker and one of the daters had the longish, super-pointed manicure. Her date took her indoor rock-climbing and there was a scene where she had stabbed her palms holding on to the rope. She was impressed that her date was concerned about her fingernails.

The pointed nails did indeed look dangerous, as well as a little creepy, and I suspect they look will not inspire widespread popularity.

Rhianna had pointy nails way back maybe 1 1/2 years ago (at least). I remember seeing them and thinking how ugly they looked.

I didn't like them then and I don't now.

I hate the pointy fingernails, they're so weird and not flattering in my opinion.

I used to let my nails grow, but long nails annoy me now so I keep them short. I guess I'm ahead of the fad!

They aren't new. Just google Carole Lombard from the 30's. Search manicure or pointy nails. They are just as sharp as Gaga's.

I don't like them either. They make your fingers look chubby. .. I Think the best one is a soft squared shaped
