I am newer to WEN so bear with me. Using 613 with success and trying BGT as well.

I have been watching a lot of the wen shows/presentations this past week. I keep hearing how wonderful tea tree is especially from Lisa R. and others.

Could someone on hear really explain the true benefits of tea tree and what you see in your hair?

They keep saying it is for problem hair of both thin and fine needing volume and coarse, frizzy and dry hair like mine.

I have color treated hair that is at least 50% plus grey now without color, medium length and it has always been a thick head of hair and naturally very wavy that is prone to frizz easily in any moisture or humidity. Very ethnic type of hair but I am very fair, weird I know.

It is also somewhat dry and coarse from years of coloring and the grey is making it more wire like over the years.

I do not blow dry ever, I towel dry lightly then let it drip dry and shape with my hands and wide tooth comb and only use a flat iron sparingly on the wispy bangs to shape them.

Any thoughts or experience as to why tea tree is getting such attention would be helpful.

Thanks

I have used Wen for two years. Tea tree is my favorite cc followed by sweet almond mint. The tea tree keeps my scalp balanced and feeeling clean and invigorated. TT also gives my hair moisture without being to heavy. I have fine hair, but a ton of it. It calms my hair and keeps it from looking like a puff ball, lol!! It does give volume, but it is controlled volume if that makes sense. I have heard ladies with thin hair say that it gives them volume and makes their hair feel thicker. It is invigorating on the scalp and helps keep the hair follicles clear of sebum. I think this is why it helps with hair growth so much. Tea tree is awesome!!! I do wish it smelled better, though, lol!

I am another WENner who'd never be without TT. I use the CC as well as the Oil and TT is my WEN of choice for my scalp. I use other flavors for the balance of my hair (BGT is my FAV) and I sometimes mix a little of the CA with TT for my first cleanse. At almost 62, my hair grows so fast! I also have fine hair and have found that the combination of TT and BGT work best for me. I also use WEN styling products. They are AhMayZIng, imho.

Thanks Hilary777! I might give it a try.

Any thoughts on the TT re moist and oil? Do they work in the same manner as helping the hair issues like the cleansing conditioner does or are they just really for intense treatment like properties? Do they smell the same or worse than tt cc?

thanks

I haven't tried the TT remoist, but I would say that it would have the same properties. It is a deep moisture treatment for the hair. I have used the TT oil. It is the most invigorating oil in my opinion. I can feel the tingle when I use it. I think the TT oil smells like the cc. The oil has a stronger scent. The scent of the TT cc does not linger on my hair once it's dry. When I smell my hair, it just smells kind of minty and clean, similar to toothpaste, lol!!

The TT oil is a must! The scent is stronger than the CC. My husband says it smells like trees.

Before Wen my hair didn't seem to grow at all. I could go several months (at least) before I would see the least bit of a difference. Once I started using Wen my hair started to grow more quickly.

When I started using TT CC & oil regularly my hair started growing like a weed. These days it grows more than one inch a month.

TT oil has medicinal benefits that help keep the scalp healthy (anti fungal and antibacterial). TT oil is also an emulsifier so the dried grit and sebum (body oil) gets gently loosened and cleansed off of your scalp. This lets the hair follicles on your scalp breathe more easily.I think this encourages hair growth.

In particular, over a period of a few months the TT CC (in combination with the jojoba/TT oil) helped normalize my very oily scalp. My scalp used to become an oil slick inside of 18 hours. These days I can go 2-4 days between cleansings (3 days average).

I have to say I think the TT products smell like some kind of industrial strength toilet cleaner. But boy oh boy do they feel good on my scalp! I love the feeling so much I can't wait to use them again! I haven't used long enough to get all the benefits (started this week) but I do think I got lots of volume for my fine, straight hair. The smell is worth it to me.

BTW my mom got great results for her fine, thinning hair and she LIKES the smell, too Smiley Wink

Thanks for the thread; I'm looking to grow my hair longer. I use the TT oil twice a week. I just ordered the TT CC yesterday; I haven't used this one for a long time, not since I ran out over a year ago (I've been using all different formulations, I have all but TT and CA).

Thanks so much to everyone for the responses! It seems I may need to add this to my lineup or at least give a decent try.
