My vet recently told me that tea tree oil is extremely toxic to dogs. Although some dog shampoos/conditioners contain a small amount of tea tree (which is ok in very small doses), he advised that concentrated (like Wen) tea tree oil can cause significant liver/nervous system damage.
This is very concerning to me, as Chaz says that he uses the oils on his dogs all the time. I don't know which oils he uses, but I don't think I've ever heard him say not to use the tea tree oil on dogs.
Perhaps there should be some kind of disclaimer/warning on the packaging for the tea tree oil, so consumers are aware of this.
