Re: Tati's Dollar Tree makeup finds

I buy makeup from there. I like the LA Colors line. Beauty blenders $1.25. Why pay a big amount of money for a sponge that has a short life anyway? I also have bought Flowers Beauty by DB from there. They have CoverGirl, Maybelline. I don't have bookoo $$ to spend on makeup so I always look there first. I buy office supplies there, all my gift bags and wrapping paper, bows, ribbon. Our DT has a huge supply in the party supply section. Birthday and cards for every occasion - lots are only $.50👍

@Allthingsgirly67

I wouldn’t trust many things from dollar tree especially makeup.

I'm with you.  I've never been in a Dollar Tree and can't think of any reason to go to one.  My husband gets my Gatorade Zero from Dollar General but I don't care for the store myself.  But, I know there are a lot of beauties here that enjoy drugstore makeup so that's the reason I posted her video.  Hopefully someone can benefit from it.

I'm sorry, call me a snob, but I'm not putting $1.25 makeup on my face.

That makes two of us

I'm thinking how many people have opened and stuck their fingers in these products

But that can happen at WM or any drugstore, not just Dollar Tree, and I'm pretty sure there are many drugstore beauties.

I've seen how people open/use things at TJ Maxx. It's because there is no supervision there. I wouldn't buy from them but I was surprised at Whole Foods when no one stopped that guy opening things. They have a LOT of employees but I couldn't see any of them that day. That's why I like buying online. 9xout of 10 they are sealed. The ones that aren't sealed-well, that's their policy. They don't seal them. It's take it or leave it I guess.

@Group 5 minus 1  I understand you feel squeamish but the reality is you have no way of knowing if any ingredient in any item you use was not sourced from off shore facilities.  Assembled in USA does not necessarily mean some of the ingredients were not imported from China, Taiwan, Vietnam, etc.  Brand is not always indicative of better or safer.  Even with a waving Stars and Stripes on the label.

My dad, before he retired, worked at Lever Brothers which is now Unilever.  Back then, they were pretty much a soap company only.  He would bring home cases of brand name brand stuff, like Whisk laundry soap, Dove bar soap, Lifebouy bar soap, etc.  Sometimes, he would bring home an off brand...same exact bottle or package but with different labeling.  My mom would turn her nose up and say why did you bring that cheap stuff.  He would tell her that stuff in the off brand box or bottle is actually the name brand stuff packaged in the vendors packaging.  He would watch the machines fill up the name brand bottles and then would come the row of off brand.  Exact same stuff.  When she realized he was right, that ended that!  He would ask her do actually think Two Guys brand (a back then local dept store) or Tops Dept store brand has a soap manufacturer?  Nope...they use already established companies and slap their label on it.

Now I do realize that's not all off brand products but again, you have no way of knowing.

@millieshops

YouTube and DollarTree are not my source for any personal care products.

I haven't watched the video.  I probably will at some point just because I love watching Tati but it will have to be when I don't have anything better to do.

As far as watching YT, you're missing out.  There is a lot of great and helpful information to be had (and some not so great information).  Think of YT as a modern day magaginze, newsletter, TV commercial, makeup/skincare counter at Nordstorm, how-to books on any topic.  Then, as with any other source, make up your own mind about a product and do some research.  There are so many tools right at your fingertips.  Tools we didn't have 18 years ago.

Re: Tati's Dollar Tree makeup finds

I have several of the items she loves already and use them. Most especially the contour pencils. I have the one she used and the lighter one she mentioned as well. I use them everyday. I'm going to look out for a couple more items she recommended to try as well.
