@Shelbelle wrote:Just an FTY, Carrageenan should be avoided in food products, it can be toxic, I read this from trusted, Dr Andrew Weil.
And what is scary is it's used in organic foods!

Yes ,it is, such as some of the organic almond milks.

QVC view viewers seem to need some prop to fall for the sale. QVC knows this.
ITA! The Geisha story and JM's story are a TOTAL joke. Can't believe women fall for it. There's NO 70 year old woman who looks 40.

Yes, it is ridiculous. As the story goes, the promoter/developer that makes Tatcha, found a woman who supposedly is a geisha and asked her to remove her makeup and beautiful skin underneath all that pancake makeup which she attributed to the ingredient(s) of Tatcha.
LMBO!!!

I have been using Estee Lauder and Lancome for years, and what is shocking to me is that both of those lines have had red algae and rice powder listed as ingredients.....so how can this be a totally new discovery from an ancient text? I just can not believe it!
Also, when I read ALL the ingredients, there were a bunch of chemicals listed long before rice powder and algae, which were near the bottom of the list. I am willing to try anything one time, but the list of ingredients looked like something to avoid, at least for me.
Glad it works for some people. I think the rep is really lovely.

she never said it was a new discovery for all the world, especially since she clearly stated it is the ingredients the Geisha's have been using for many years. She said it was a new discovery for her. Just like Josie said argan oil was a new discovery for her, not for the world. People often completely misinterpret the vendors words.

I was attracted to this line because of the beautiful packaging, good old marketing. It did seem expensive for what you were getting.
I did not purchase and agree that here's another line with promises that you'll be "transformed" when you buy this line.
The people who sell these beauty lines play on our desires to be more than we are, chasing that dream to be picture perfect beautiful.
I gave up a while ago in buying expensive facial products. Due to retirement and less monthly cash flow, it was an area I could cut back. To be honest, I started buying the products offered at Costco....using Cetaphil cleanser, Oil of Olay moisturizer. Still have an eye cream so haven't had to look for that yet.
My skin looks and feels the same as when I paid much more. I did not suffer in any way by scaling back. So my theory is that maybe we don't need all the expensive stuff after all; I was just paying for prettier bottles to sit out on my counter!!!

Carrageenan is also found in some brands of cat food and should be avoided.

I don't use Tatcha, as I am happy with my skin care line. Different people can afford different things. Because some people find it too expensive, doesn't mean that someone else can't find it affordable..or they love it enough to do without other things to buy it.
I guess I don't understand the hatred and condescention regarding products other people might like... People do this with Wen, Perricone Kate S, and the list goes on. An opinion is one thing, if you have tried it. But mocking the vendors, people who use it,or rating a product based on price alone, and never having used the product is not really constructive. JMHO. I don't like many product lines myself, but to each their own.
