I guess I don't understand the hatred and condescention regarding products other people might like... People do this with Wen, Perricone Kate S, and the list goes on. An opinion is one thing, if you have tried it. But mocking the vendors, people who use it,or rating a product based on price alone, and never having used the product is not really constructive. JMHO. I don't like many product lines myself, but to each their own.
None of the posts mentioned anything about "hate". What I read are opinions on the high price of under 2 ounces of product, and the hard to believe stories vendors use to sell products. I do know someone who used the product. She wasn't impressed and thought the price was not worth it.

I did not purchase and agree that here's another line with promises that you'll be "transformed" when you buy this line.
The people who sell these beauty lines play on our desires to be more than we are, chasing that dream to be picture perfect beautiful.
I gave up a while ago in buying expensive facial products. Due to retirement and less monthly cash flow, it was an area I could cut back. To be honest, I started buying the products offered at Costco....using Cetaphil cleanser, Oil of Olay moisturizer. Still have an eye cream so haven't had to look for that yet.
My skin looks and feels the same as when I paid much more. I did not suffer in any way by scaling back. So my theory is that maybe we don't need all the expensive stuff after all; I was just paying for prettier bottles to sit out on my counter!!!
My 97-year-old mother used Oil of Olay and Ponds for years and years. Not sure what she is using now. She still has the most beautiful skin. Of course, part of it is good, healthy eating she maintained her entire life; and genetics comes into play too. I am fortunate to have her genes based down to me. Now if I could just get the "good, healthy eating" part down, I'd be looking really good! ha!

Everyone has an opinion about what works best for them and we all want to respect each other's opinion and to get tips from everyone here in the forum. I don't doubt Vicki's story of the way she discovered the geisha and ultimately found the only written copy of the geishas' way of taking care of their skin for decades. When she first came to the Q there was more time alloted for presentations so the story could be explained in greater detail. She spent a long time researching and consulting with some of the best minds in the skincare business. There is a famous chemist in Japan (well known to people in that business) who some refer to as "Dr. Fix-it." There have been some skincare lines that didn't see a product or products working as well as they should have (according to the original chemists) and those lines have gone to consult with this Japanese chemist to get his expertise to reformulate a product(s). There's a lot of kowledge and experience required to extract the ingredients in the absolute best way and to compose the formula, sometimes over again many times before the final result becomes the product that will actually make it into a line. During one of Vicki's first visits the host referred to this Japanese chemist when she was talking with Vicki about the efficacy of TATCHA products. I have lupus so my skin is really sensitive so consequently, I research any product before I buy it to use. TATCHA's quality and performance is exceptional and for me, it's made a big difference in my skin. I really like my skin now. When the hosts go through the list of magazine, newspaper and television shows that have featured TATCHA, there is one things about the business mags and news broadcasts - they vet everything so if the "story" had any gaps it wouldn't have been published. I just wanted to write this to explain the story about these products is really true.

First of all, these are not sample sizes, they are trial sizes. And you are going to pay more for smaller sized products as a rule. The kit lasted me over a month of daily use.
Tatcha is not an inexpensive line, what are you expecting - for them, this is a good deal to try out their products. I think they have high quality products and yes, you do pay for the classy packaging.
I ordered their products before I knew the "story" that went with it. They are some the very best products I have ever used. My skin looked and felt great. I still use what products I can afford and love them.
I never care about the stories - they all have them. I only care about how the products work and what kind of company they are.
I can't believe all the criticism.

@Carri B, thank you for sharing your perspective and this information. It was really informative.
Your comment about the knowledge and experience to extract ingredients (and to find top quality ingredients) really rang true for me.
I've been looking for a new cleansing oil to replace the discontinued one that Had worked so well for years and years. -- I've been using Julep's Bare Naked Cleansing Oil for the past few months. I like it better than DHC (which was much too sticky for my oily face) and it's somewhat better at keeping my acne at bay.
Once or twice a week I had been using my basic DIY 95% jojoba oil / 5% tea tree oil on my face to help combat my acne. It was helping a bit, but not a lot. -- This past week, before bedtime, I used 5 drops of the Wen Tea Tree / Eucalyptus Treatment Oil on my face. The following morning I was surprised to find that there was less redness on my face. Since then I have been applying it three times a day, while still cleansing my face at night with the Julep cleansing oil.
What has really surprised me is that a week later my acne issues are diminishing and there is less and less irritation/redness on my face. -- So clearly the Wen Tea Tree Treatment oil formulation is of a much higher quality than my DIY formulation.

Folks this is classic Sales 101 for any shopping channel. First, there has to be a story (a geisha, a lady living on a property where herbs are grown for a haircare product, the french lady who uses an oil etc.etc. etc.) Then there has to be a host who gets a "memory" or an "it reminds me of" moment (something to get you to relate to it) and then best of all there is someone watching who is willing to pay for the hype. Works every time! If it costs fifty bucks, it's only worth that if you are willing to pay for it!

It's supposed to last a month. Your question about who spends $50.00 every two weeks on skin care..many women do, especially if they're seeing a dermatologist.
Agree its an indivudaul woman choice but.....My dermatologist would be unhappy at spending that much money on samples. She is very anti open jars, when Tatcha has, mostly jars. Also recommends Cereve & Cetephil. Paula's Choice is the most expensive thing she has ever recommended. My experience with a dermatologist they recommend inexpensive brands and have balked at the mainstream expensive brands.

Your dermatologist would be unhappy? really? she recommends Paula's Choice? interesting. Most dermatologists have a room full of products they sell, and that is what they recommend. LOL.

I'm so glad that you mentioned using WEN Tea Tree oil for breakouts. I've done the same thing when I can tell I have one coming! I dot it on the place I know it's going to pop up and tap it in. If I catch it soon enough the tea tree oil takes care of so it quickly. When TATCHA started the choice of the rice enzyme powder I started using the Deep one, not being sure if it would irritate my skin (re: lupus) or not. I found that it didn't aggravate it and I think the exfoliation I got was better, but not drying out at all. I've found so many uses for WEN products in addition to cleansing my hair!

Hi @Carri B, I'm a big fan of Wen products too. I'm so glad to hear that the Wen Tea Tree / Eucalyptus Treatment Oil has worked well for you for breakouts. This is my second week of using the Wen oil and I'm really encouraged by the continuing results. My face didn't develop this acne overnight, so I know that it's going to take a while to get better.
I'm so glad that I purchased the September 5th Wen TSV that had the Wen Treatment Oil included in it. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have purchased it.
This past summer I bought a few skin care products on QVC which were on sale. Right now I'm using the Julep Bare Skin Cleansing Oil (and adding the Wen TT Treatment Oil). The Julep product is ok, but it's not really creating that much of an improvement (though it's better that DHC for me).
This past July, I also purchased the Tatcha Cleansing Oil duo and their standard Enzyme Powder duo -- both were two for the price of one. The Cleansing Oil duo was available all month, but the Enzyme duo was only available as an OTO and sold out before the end of the Asian Beauty show. I have oily skin, so I would have preferred to have tried the heavy duty enzyme powder, but only the standard version was available. If the enzyme powder works, at some point I'd like to try the one that is formulated for oily skin. I'm glad to know that the oily skin version isn't rough on your face. -- I haven't started using my Tatcha products yet, but I'll probably break them open in the next few weeks.
I wanted to give the Julep Cleansing Oil a full go of it before I moved on to Tatcha. -- And now I want to see how much the Wen Tea Tree Treatment Oil will do for my acne before I move on to Tatcha.
I'm really excited to finally get to try the Tatcha brand. I've tried some Tatcha sample products before and really liked them, but I haven't had the opportunity to give their products for an extended period of time. I think it makes sense to try the Cleansing Oil and the Enzyme powder together.
@JeanLouiseFinch was kind enough to share some information about several Tatcha dupes which sound excellent. If Tatcha hadn't has a two for one sale in July, I probably would have gone straight to the dupes. But now I'll try Tatcha and then probably try the dupes.
I really like the idea of exfoliating with enzyme powders. I know that people use enzyme supplements to help with their digestion of foods. These protein enzymes essentially munch on the food (or dead skin) to break it down. It seems like an excellent way for gentle facial exfoliation.
