Hello All!

What are your thoughts on talc in cosmetics? I'm debating eliminating it from all my products which would mean throwing out almost everything. I've seen research that supports both sides. Thanks in advance!

It does not bother me at all.

If talc was truly dangerous, we'd all be dead by now, or at least I would be..  As usual, reports of its dangers have been exagerated.

The biggest reason I don't buy cosmetics with talc is it sucks the moisture right out of my skin...which is what talc is supposed to do. But not a good idea for my face.

Most of my powder eyeshadows and powders in general contain talc (a natural ingredient), and they are not at all drying but very creamy and smooth. It all depends upon the overall formulation.

I definitely have no qualms about this ingredient either in terms of safety or effectiveness in products.

And unlike others whose posts I've read, I do not consider it to be a cheap filler.

I'd only toss a product if it felt dry on your skin, you might want to use anything in doubt & see how it feels before you chuck it. I know many don't like that the new bM BarePro foundation has talc, but it doesn't feel drying on me at all.

Talc can be an irritant for some, but that doesn't mean is bad across the board.  My problem with it these days is that it's a cheap filler and it makes me mad when it's at the top of the ingredient list of an expensive product.  If it's an E.L.F. eyeshadow that costs a couple of bucks, I'd expect it there.
