Last night I saw Melissa (tall and large model) along with the dark haired vendor, acting as a new spokes person for IT. They already tapped Jaime, the blonde model.

What's up with hiring models from QVC as reps? Are no qualifications necessary?

Re: TWO MODELS ARE IT REPS

[ Edited ]

I thought Desiree (short hair) was the blonde QVC model who is now one of the IT Cosmetics reps.  Jaime (long hair) is the blonde QVC model, who is still a model as far as I know.

But more importantly, why assume because we have only seen a person as a model that they don't have qualifications for anything else?  Would IT Cosmetics really hire someone who was lousy at the job and risk their sales?  Like anything else, I'm pretty sure they had to show qualifications, go through a training period, and be selected.  I guess they also get a boost because the viewers have seen them wear the makeup already and "trust" that it works as they've seen before.

Some of the QVC models are also actresses, some are nurses.  I would never presume any limitatons on anyone.

@JobGirl Amy is both a nurse and an actress.  Stacey is an actress.  Khadija (spelling?) is also a nurse.  Jessica is a Celtic dance performer.  They have been mentioned on air, and I've seen both Amy and Stacey in separate House of Cards episodes.   There could be any number of experiences/accomplishments in the resumes of any of the models.

I don't know who this model, Melissa, is.  The blonde former model is Desiree.  She is no longer doing any modeling on QVC.  At least I haven't seen her modeling at all since joining with IT Cosmetic.

I don't see what the big deal is.  People are free to move on to other jobs, and I'm sure they've received appropriate training before presenting their products.  Angel Smedley used to model for Quacker Factory and now she's the spokesperson for the brand.  Former host, Albany Irvin, went to work for Nick Chavez.  Another one from years ago on another network went to work for the undergarment company.  It happens.  I don't get too worked up about it.

@MalteseMomma - I don't know the time frame you're referring to, but Desiree (the blonde) hasn't modeled in quite some time, since becoming part of IT Cosmetics.  The only modeling she does, if you want to call it that, is when she is on as a vendor rep and removes her own makeup to reapply the IT product she's presenting.

Awhile back, living in South Jersey and going to Charity events, I met a number of Q models...one of them had her own catering company and catered a house part we held...modeling doesn't equate with not knowing anything....

I believe Melissa is the one on the right.
