I am light but have cool tones (redness). I think the Opal is too light. I wore Bare Shell in the Bareskin serum. I really have no idea where to go from here. The nearest place to sample is 1 1/2 hours away. This is where I miss the Insider. If I knew a week or two ago this was coming up I could have checked the colors on a weekend excursion. Now I’m stuck with making a guess today. I’d like to stay with the light shades because I think I would prefer the bisque in the mineral veil shade. So can anyone recommend which light shade would be closest to Bare Shell? TIA...

@Tribesters  I always choose neutral...whether warm or cool. You have a better chance of it not being too pink or too orange.

*** I’m pretty sure there’s a neutral in each level of shades. It sure would be nice if color names were consistent within one brand, right?

I agree with the others in recommending sticking with a neutral.  I am light, but sometimes go light-medium. I also have some redness.  I find neutrals work better for me b/c the warmth in the neutral is just enough to balance the redness & the coolness in the neutral saves me from the color looking too orange.  I tested the Complextion Rescue colors in the store last year.  I thought Vanilla would work, but it was way too white (almost like sunscreen).  I would have had to go with Natural, which was a bit too dark for me, but they had just come out with Wheat.  Wheat has a little more pinky-beige in it and worked out perfectly for me.  In Bisque, I can wear both Original & Summer.  The Original is lighter with some pink in it.  The Summer is a tad deeper & neutral.  If you are pasty white, go with vanilla...but if you get any color to your skin at all (especially in the summer), I'd try Wheat.  If you get on auto-delivery, I'm sure you could change to Vanilla for the winter months. I hope you find what works for you.

Thank you for the advice. I am not pasty white so I really didn’t think Opal would work. I have been thinking about neutral but just had it in my head I needed a cool tone because of the redness. I think I will try the wheat shade. Thanks again!

@Tribesters try sending an email to BE and see what they recommend.  I was able to get a perfect match in Complexion Rescue in the store.  When I wanted to try the Bare Pro, I emailed them and they told me what would work, based on my Complexion Rescue shade.

Also at midnight, they said over and over, that there is free exchanges if the color you picked isn't right.

There is, but that doesn't mean QVC carries it. I'm shade 1.5 and they only carry 1 and 2 in the fair shades.

Thanks for recommending the wheat shade. It is perfect! I really wasn’t sure I would like this kit but so far I really do. Interested in hearing from others that got it. Any tips on application? I went back & watched the presentation online because there weren’t any instructions.

Yes I would love to know how others are using the primer. I applied it before my complexion rescue and it didn’t work! The CR just sat on top of my skin and wouldn’t absorb and looked wet and splotchy, so I had to wash it off and start again with just the CR. I tried the primer today before applying my BM loose mineral foundation and it didn’t work either, my face looked blotchy and uneven, with spots of powder stuck in places. Maybe I am not using the primer correctly?
