I don't know that I find any eyeshadow shades dated.  There are shades that I don't like and wouldn't look good on me but it seems anything goes now.  I wear what looks good on me and that isn't always the latest trending colors which often aren't for my age or skintone.

I agree with your comments about 'dated" @Lipstickdiva .

I think that word is used too often when someone just doesn't like something.

That red lipstick is dated...

That manicure color is dated...

That scent is dated...

Re: TSV DISAPPOINTING

[ Edited ]

I may have been more interested if the foundation had been offered in more than a select few shades. Babassu Foundcealer is made in 30 shades!  To narrow it down to 10 means that a lot of customers are not getting their best match.  That said, if the other products in the set had been of more interest to me it would not be the first time I have purchased a TSV (which includes foundation) and passed the foundation on to someone the color was better suited for.  The lipglosses appear to be super glittery.

I wasn't thrilled with the Tarte TSV either.  It seems like it's always warm tone colors on the eyeshadows. I like plums, purples, pinks, the cooler tones.  I also wasn't impressed with the models skin with that foundation on it.  It did not look natural at all. I have tons of Tarte shadows from TSV's from years past that have  a lot of the cool colors in it.  Maybe the warm colors are just the trend these days.

I agree I wnet to youtube and found so many users demonstrating other colors not feautured on QVC that would have been a better match for me.

I also thought the models faces looked "shiny".

I ordered.  wanted to try the concealer and my daughter in law loves tarte so it is makes more sense to try it this way.  Did AD and will have plenty of treats for her for the holidays.  She likes IT too, but there is never any color cosmetics in their TSV's.  It is always foundation and a lip balm.

@mzrhondap   Many of the shadows were shimmers and I think one of blushes/highlighters, as well.

I didn’t buy either. I didn’t like the foundation when I tried it at Sephora. Had high hopes based on the presentation but a bust for me IRL

Hi Lipstick.   Long time no hear!   I thought I'd log on as I haven't been on in many months-lots of stuff family wise which wasn't good.

Anyway, I didn't think it looked dated.  I liked it ladies, and I bought it.  Hope everyone is doing well!  Win Smiley Happy

maybe I used the wrong term, I just looked at the picture on the home page, which wasn't appealing to me, the colors in the actual presentation looked better.

I was contemplating ordering the tarte TSV, but decided not to. In the past few months, I've ordered directly from tarte and have really been disappointed. I ordered the Amazonian Clay foundation and undereye corrector and returned both of them. The foundation was really heavy on my skin and the corrector was way to dark. I've used them both in the past, but the formula seems to have changed.

I also ordered an eyeshadow pallet (and bought one from Ulta). I gave them both to my daughter. I could not believe the amount of shimmer in the shadows. I'm almost 60 and do not like that much shimmer. Their shadows used to be a really nice satin finish.

Being a glutton for punishment, I decided to try again and ordered the Face Tape foundation and maracuja creaseless concealer. Same story-foundation seems heavy and very drying and the conceler is thick and does crease. Thinking of returning those as well.

I don't know if they've completely revamped everything to appeal to a younger audience or what, but I find that most of their things are no longer wearable. It could also be that my complexion has changed the older I've gotten. But in any event, I am really hesitant to order anything tarte anymore.
