TSV DISAPPOINTING

[ Edited ]

I was looking forward to the Tarte TSV until the presentation at midnight. Sample sizes aside, Incould not see in the advance photo how much shimmer was in the shadows and one of the glosses.

Almost all of the makeup offerings at the Nordstrom sale were these same peachy/rose gold shades. Enough, so let’s move on to some greys, lavenders, anything else!!

The 2nd shipment of a/d is much better, but not ordering just to receive that one.

Oh well, money saved.

I can't say I think it looks dated.  There are lots of brand new palettes coming out with these same shades in them.  I don't particularly care for the shadow colors for me though.

I don't know that I find any eyeshadow shades dated.  There are shades that I don't like and wouldn't look good on me but it seems anything goes now.  I wear what looks good on me and that isn't always the latest trending colors which often aren't for my age or skintone.

I agree....Tarte is made in China and I only want cosmetics made in the US, possibly Canada. The host kept talking and I wanted to see the colors!

I would have bought it if the foundation didn't contain zinc oxide. That stuff always gives me a bad reaction.

I bought it. It’s very difficult to find a moisturizing full coverage foundation and I have dry skin and need this. I also liked the addition of so many neutral foundation shapes. I dislike foundations that look yellowish or pinkish. I’m hoping the zinc oxide used for spf won’t cast a whitish undertone. We’ll see. I like that there are matte shadows included and eye shadow brushes. I’m also out of mascara, so I could use the two mascaras that come with the set. I prefer small size mascaras because they go bad so fast once opened that I end up throwing half ypused full sized mascaras away. I’m hoping that if I just use a tiuvpch if these mascaras I won’t  get the doll eyes look that tarte mascara can cause sometimes. What I don’t like are lip glosses. They look icky to me and I don’t like glosses on anyone over twenty. I also dipint like the fact that the foundation emphasizes lines under the eyes, but I won’t be wearing it there, so that won’t bother m too much. I also desperately need a blusher brush and I wish they would have included one. I have not bought any thing by Tarte in years because.  of their use of clay (kaolin) in so many of their products. Clay dries out my very, very, dry skin. The foundation has no clay in it.

I found the presentations lacking. I wanted to see the blushes applied. I want to see if they are very drying and what the colors look like in the face.

@Shanus I just purged my stash and gave it to my BFF's kids who were going back to school.

As I was purging (what a great feeling!) I thought...How much money did I waste on this stuff I don't use like I used to.

I think the kit looks nice, but in a month will I still feel the same or will I be back to the same minimalist routine that gets better with time?

@Jtdmum   I may have been slightly tempted if the colors were cool for a change. I also think the models should come out w/o any makeup & be “done” with the entire TSV, not just swipe off a 1” square of rosacea. Befores & afters  do not show how well the products apply. You are right.
