Re: THURSDAY Beauty P&R 7/12/18

Saw the Neogen Peeling Mousse on HSN and was sooo curious.  Hype?  Real?  I had to try it because I'm kind of a nutcase about keeping my oversized pores clean.  OK, the mousse really does cause tiny black balls of yuck to form on your face -- but I wondered if these were the mousse turning to black balls as it dries, or gunk from my blackheads...?

I've used the Neogen 5 times now and I can honestly say that my big pores on each side of my nose are much tighter and practically invisible.  Some areas of my complexion are smooth as glass.  There seems to be a big improvement in pore size -- and I use a 20X magnification mirror every day.  I will continue to use the Neogen 3-4 times a week until it's gone.   I'll probably be absolutely drop-dead gorgeous by then!  Ha.

I don't like the Neogen serum that came with the mousse and may stop using it.

Hi Beauties.  A few things - I started this thread early as I won't be available until mid/late afternoon.  Second, today is the start of Nordstrom big sale if you are interested.  Did you do any shopping for Beauty?

Acure Organics - Lemongrass & Argan Clarifying shampoo.  Love this shampoo.  Cleans up the build up without sulfates and stops any itching. Left my hair moisturized and not dry. This is definitely a keeper.

Mrs. Meyers - liquid hand wash in Geranium.

Zum bar soap in Betsy which is lavender and lemon scented.

Blum Naturals facial wipes for makeup removal.  Very nice but I still prefer my Petal Fresh in rosemary & lavender.

e.l.f.  lip brush.  You can always use a lip brush especially when the lipstick gets really low.

Have a wonderful weekend and Stay Pretty, Beauties!  Share your purchases or reviews.

@Katcat1  I went a little nuts with 20% off at Laura Mercier site: another tinted moisturizer, primer w/ radiance to try (may use in places over makeup, too), Secret Camouflage, gloss in Cosmic and a Sheer Lipcolor in Healthy Lips. Now I have a 10% birthday coupon & may try a few caviar sticks. Anyone have suggestions for shades?

Bought the NARS Mini Orgasm Set —lipstick, lipgloss & blush powder.

The blush we are familiar with & the lipgloss & lipstick are in the Orgasm shade. I would say this is great for travel or a sample try me out set.

Full sized items of all 3 were at the Ulta I visited.

This month is my birthday month & a mini IT Superhero Mascara was the gift. I have so many mini mascaras that I requested the previous quarter’s gift — a mini NARS Orgasm blush powder. Surprisingly, the blush was free for me even when the mascara coupon was used! This blush is the same size as the one in the Mini Orgasm Set.

@JustJazzmom. I’ve been using that NARS blush in the cream stick forever. I’ve cheated & used it on lips too...haven’t gotten poisoned, but was happy to see lipstick, gloss added. Sometimes I add the cream blush over the powder blush when I need more color.

Happy Birthday!!!  🎂  My birthday month as well.

@tototwo  I saw the HSN presentations on the Neogen products.  They do sound very interesting.  I am glad that they help you shrink your pores.  Thanks for the review.

@Shanus Caviar eyesticks are the best!

My eyes are a golden brown (amber) and I use Khaki, Tuxedo, Cobblestone and Heather (mauve-greyed) as lower liners and waterline. Stay beautifully. Colors remain true. Read reviews on Sephora or LM website.

Also using daily Lip Sheer in Baby Lips

@maestra  I use Baby Lips, too. I have green eyes, but now w/ my white/grey hair I’m changing from brown, taupe, beige shadows to greys and silvers. Going to Nord. tonite, so will ck. shadow sticks. Thanks.

@Shanus   You would look good in the gray shades.  I believe there is a light silver gray and a dark grey.  Dark blue would really bring out the green in your eyes but I am not sure you would like the dark blue.

The only thing I bought this week was some pure squalane oil from Timeless. I was just curious about the oil and I had read many good things about it. So I gave it a try and it's such a lightweight oil that I don't feel or see any difference. I'll probably end up using the rest of it as a makeup remover for around my eyes.

Hi, @SilleeMee!!

I have The Ordinary's squalane, and I use it like a serum.  I like the fact that it sinks in.  I always put a lotion or cream over it.

Re: THURSDAY Beauty P&R 7/12/18

I bought the Atlantis eyeshadow palette from the Hush app, and have used it a few times.  I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised by the palette.  The pigmentation is much better than I thought it would be, and the shadows blend well.  I have done looks with a mostly neutral eye with a pop of color, and the other day I did an all-blue look.  I'm glad I bought this palette.  IMO, it is worth the $14.

@Katcat1  OMG, went to Nord. Anniversary Sale this afternoon. Checked out the shadows, couldn’t decide, but had 2 “gift” sets...1 w/ lip pencil, lipstick/gloss & the other was a palette w/ 8-10 shadows, 2 blushes & bronzer (small flat compact w/ mirror). Of course, purchased both. Will go back when they aren’t as busy to check out stick shadows.

Thanks for recommendations, though.
