Re: TGIF, Beauties! What Did You Use Up This Week 12/13?

Happy Friday the 13th to all!  I just realized at almost 10 pm that today is a Friday the 13th.  Good luck day for me because I was born on a Friday the 13th.  Hope you all had a good luck day!

Just one thing this week:  NYX blotting papers.  I don't use these frequently but they're really nice.  Have more in my stash.

Tossed:  Elf camo concealer.  I find this way too thick and drying and couldn't get a good color match.

Re: TGIF, Beauties! What Did You Use Up This Week 12/13?

Used up:

Murad Advanced Active Radiance Serum - This was the vitamin C serum I used. I bought it when it was the daily deal on Sephora for 50% off. I think it was nice, but it's pricey so I'm not going to repurchase it. I replaced it with a vitamin C powder from Neogen.

Tatcha Pure One Step Camelia Cleansing Oil mini - This was really nice and I was surprised how little I had to use. It was part of a kit, which made it a good value, but I wouldn't repurchase it alone. I prefer the Boscia cleansing oil.

UD Go Naked Perfume Oil - This was my 2nd bottle of it and I really love it. It's been discontinued, which is really sad.

Tossed:

Becca Undereye Brightener - This came in a kit and is just a mini size. It is really sticky. I prefer the Colorscience total eye.

Re: TGIF, Beauties! What Did You Use Up This Week 12/13?

I used up a spray can of L'Oreal Magic Root Cover Up in medium brown and replaced it with one from my beauty stash.

I also decluttered some skincare products from The Ordinary and The Inkey List. The Ordinary has a PAO (period after opening) of 12 months and The Inkey List has a PAO of 6 months. I tossed out a salicylic acid 2% serum which had changed color, an old 10% lactic acid, and an old matrixyl and arbutin serums as well. The arbutin serum also changed color. I tossed out a Q10 serum lotion as it has a sticky texture that doesn't dry down and I don't like it very much.

This past week I looked up the batch codes on many of my skincare and hair products to see how old they are. Actually I was impressed that both The Ordinary and The Inkey List were fairly new aka they didn't sit on the store shelves very long.

I wasn't so impressed by how old some of my Marcelle moisturizers were before I bought them. Marcelle Groupe is a Canadian cosmetic brand that makes Annabelle Cosmetics, Marcelle, and Lise Watier cosmetics and fragrances. As I have products from all three lines I was able to figure out how to read their batch codes. I think they put the year first as two digits and then a letter that stands for the month and then numbers for the production run after that. For the month they use the capital letters A-H and J-M skipping the capital letter "I" because it looks too much like the number "1" when you look at really small print on the makeup item.

I discovered that the Marcelle moisturizers I bought were already 2 years old when I purchased them this summer. I think that's why the cream may not have blended very well and didn't work well under my foundation or tinted sunscreen. So I tossed it and decluttered a backup in my beauty stash. At least I now know how to read the batch codes before I make a purchase as I really do like Marcelle facial cleansers.

I looked at my shampoos and hair color and they weren't old so I was happy.

Re: TGIF, Beauties! What Did You Use Up This Week 12/13?

Happy weekend!

Just one thing for me again this week: LA Girl Ultimate eyeliner in Perpetual Purple- this was getting dry and hard to apply, it actually broke off several times when I tried to use it. I'm not replacing it for now.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I used up one of my Wet and Wild #666 Brandywine lip liners.  I have two more in my stash.
