Re: Sweating Drops Progress Report

@depglass

I feel like I've hit a new level as of last night.  I don't remember how long the drops took to work decades ago, just that they DID work.  I had some improvement but wondered if the fact that I'm on Cymbalta for FM pain (which causes sweating for me) was keeping the drops from working as well as they could.  Well last night, I noticed even more improvement and today as well.  My hands are actually cold.  My hands are N.E.V.E.R. cold!!!  I've had to turn the ceiling fan on low.  I thought I forgot to turn the thermostat up to 75 when DH got up this morning.  I didn't forget Smiley Happy  My disposition is SO much better when I'm not uncomfortably hot Smiley Happy  Today is day 10 since I started taking them.  I'm actually sitting here COLD (but I'm not complaining Smiley Happy )

@HerRoyaLioness

The bottle is too small to read but does it indicate sweating on the back?  When I was talking to the young lady at PL, she only told me about the D82 drops.

I got a significant amt of relief after 2 days and then none for a few days and then it got better again.  Right now I'm sitting in my office and had to turn the ceiling fan to low and I'm still cold...but that's OK!  I like cold in AUGUST Smiley Happy

I so hope that these drops work for everyone.  Don't give up.  I would imagine everyone is different and if you're on medication that causes sweating, it might take longer (it has for me).  Brrrr.  I'm turning the ceiling fan OFF Smiley Happy

Re: Sweating Drops Progress Report

@Jk9  Thanks for all that info on the botox injections.  I may seriously consider that if these drops don't work for me.

@monicakm  I can't believe it, your post reminded me which RX medicine caused my sweating problem to begin with.   It was Cymbalta, I was taking it for pain.  What an awful side effect, I've just never heard side effects like that may become pemanent.,at least for me it did.   I need to remember the name of that drug in case a doctor ever suggests I take again.

Re: Sweating Drops Progress Report

@monicakm - sorry I couldn't get a better picture, but that isn't the one. Went back and dug a little further on their website and it looks like you can't order those on line, so will have to call. Thanks and am glad they are working so well for you!

@decaf

Nearly everything I take or have taken in the past causes either swelling (Lyrica for FM pain) or Cymbalta/sweating (for pain).

I have a list on my dry eraser board on the side of the fridge.  It's all the meds I've taken and the reason I can't take them.  I take a picture of it (when it changes) with my phone so I always have it with me when I go to the Dr.  I know I'm a pain in the butt patient because of all my sensitivities among other things.  I once had a Dr tell me "we didn't learn about people like you in med school" LOL  She ended up being my favorite Dr because she understood I was different and what generally worked for others, was not going to work for me.

BTW, I'm still cold have have cold hands.  No fan!  I was just remined of the song by Fred Astaire called "I'm in Heaven" (because I'm actually chilly).  Please dear Lord let  this work for others afflicted with this disorder!

@Jk9

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences.  I am learning a lotMy sweating comes more from the head and into the forehead and face than from the forehead.  Did you have botox in the hairy part of the head?  How did that work out?  Do you get any insurance coverage for this?

(I wouldn't say I have excessive sweating elsewhere except for the head, but, of course, sometimes everything sweats -- the sweating came from everywhere when I was on the medication that triggered this condition and which I no longer take. My hands can be sweaty still, particularly when I am going out.  I do suffer from anxiety, and only take anti-anxiety medication at night, because it makes me sleepy.  I also suffer from depression, and it was an antidepressant that appears to have caused the excessive sweating, but it only started 2 years after I started taking the antidepressant.  I quit that antidepressant because of that and other side effects.  Tried several other antidepressants and they all caused severe side effects, erasing any benefit, so I went off them.  A former male hairdresser told me he also had to quit antidepressants because of escessive sweating -- as I explained why my hair was sopping wet.  Apparently, this is a common side effect.  Coping as best as I can.)

I was just reading about you taking Oxybutynin for the sweating and I am intrigued by this.  Are you still taking?  You take it plus the botox?

@monicakm I was just reading about your cramps.  I started taking Hydrochlorothiazide for high blood pressure in 2014, and the doctor also prescribed me potassium chloride at the time, because he said the Hydrochlorothiazide would cause excessive urination, and I would need the potassium chloride to avoid cramping from loss of fluids.  I didn't developed excessive urination, but the medicine came in handy years later with the excessive sweating.  Taking that keeps the cramps in check.  Maybe you can get a prescription.

@Jk9 forgot to ask about robinul forte?  Is this also for excessive sweating?  I so appreciate any insights you can offer.

@NYCLatinaMe

Thank you.  I'm glad you have something to help with your cramping.  I keep a bottle of homeopathic Hylands Leg Cramp pills next to my bed.  They work really fast.  But since taking powdered magnesium nightly (mixed with Gatorade) I rarely need the Hylands.  It's just there for emergencies.   The other night my husband had a cramp that wouldn't go away in his lower right abdomen.  I didn't know if it would work but I knew it wouldn't hurt so I gave him a couple of these pills.  In less than 5 minutes his cramp was easing Smiley Happy  I love this group Smiley Happy

This is what I drink nightly to keep cramps away (and it helps with consti-you-know-what).  Also helps with stress.

Re: Sweating Drops Progress Report

@monicakm  I love this group too!   I can't imagine how many people really deal with this when I see how many chimed in on this small group.

It's awful how many doctors poo poo this problem, other problems also.  Having injuries they can't fix, I've found many, most doctors ( in Fla) are so dismissive, just because they don't have the answer to things, they minimize just so you don't mention it again to them.

I've never met one that said "I don't know", big egos, and I've been to plenty for my issues.  If they don't have an answer for your problem, it's all in you head!

Monica, you're so brave to mention you suffer from this, even though we're all anonymous here.
