@monicakm they might have gotten rid of the Thyroid med due to pressure from the FDA. Even though the FDA doesn't control supplements, if they make certain claims they can step in. I'm on a Thyroid group and I sometimes see people asking if anybody has successfully used some of these Thyroid Support supplements instead of their thyroid medicine and I find that concerning. I can see maybe trying it in conjunction with your thyroid med, but not in place of, and you would need to test more often.
I need something opposite. I'm cold all the time, unless I'm out working in the yard, and then I sweat. I keep the thermostat in the summer set at 76 and sometimes put on a little topper beause the air is blowing on me. I'm wearing socks right now and my feet are cold. I'll ony wear sandals if I'm going to be outside. All of my clothes have to have some sort of sleeve or else I'll have to wear something over it.

So good to find like affected folks to discuss this with. The embarrassment we suffer is real. The discomfort is real and often minimized by others. People are not kind and say all kinds of things. I totally get that this isn't "a life threatening" illness as such, but it is an illness with a diagnosis and very few treatment options. I have been warned over the years about the risk of dehydration and heat stroke as well as infections related to some areas of the body staying damp or drenched. Taking the usual medications prescribed such as glycopyrrolate and oxybutiniin results in dry mouth and eyes and makes talking very difficult. I have to drink water or tea (whatever) with a meal because I can't swallow food because my throat is so dry. Enough complaining. Nice to learn how others cope and what is used to make our life as normal as possible.

Like I've said a gazillion times, you can put on enough clothes to get warm but you can't take off enough to get cool But, I'm in no way minimizing your problem with being cold. The "feel like" temp here is 108. I'm sitting in my office, NO ceiling fan on, NO desk fan in my face, thermostat on 75 and not hot! That is nothing less than a miracle Color me grateful!

@Jk9 I recall you mentioning you had botox injections for this on the other thread. I'm curious, what type of doctor does that? Do you know how often you'll need them, also was it very painful? Thanks in advance for any info you can share.

Maybe you might want to consider the homeopathic drops instead?? I would hate that dry mouth/throat problem and it sounds like yours is really bad. Of all my years talking to Drs about my excessive sweating, the only thing that has ever been suggested is Botox. But, the sweating only increases in other area from what I understand. Stop your face from sweating and your stomach will sweat. I never went that route.

You just reminded me that my "low tire" light came on last night and it's usually a nail from a construction site. I better go out and see if it's flat as a pancake now. I don't know how my husband doesn't have them all the time since he's out on these jobs daily.

It's a blessing to me to be able to help others! I hope it works for you. The directions say 2x a day but also says you can take it more often if needed. PLEASE let us know if they work for you. Don't give up after a day or two. It could take longer.

@monicakmdo you think this would work for menopausal hot flashes? I don't have a Thyroid problem, but at 65 still have horrific hot flashes - and it's all around the head, face and neck. Summer makes it worse.. I've tried the black cohosh and other OTC remedies to no avail. What do you all think?

Wow, so glad I stumbled on this thread, thanks @monicakm. I too suffer from excessive sweating, particularly from the hair/head. I have been to several doctors and they have found nothing that would cause it, the only doctor I have yet to see is the dermatologist. It is not hot flashes, which people often assume.
Like @decaf and @blueroses47 my problem is sweating from the head, which is why I am having problems maintaining any hairstyle or makeup. When people see me sweating, they ask if I am OK. As someone else mentioned, it is not a big deal when men sweat, but for us women, it's a real problem.
@decaf Like you, we believed that the problem (which started less than 3 years ago) was associated with a medication I was taking. But after I stopped the medication, the head sweating remained. It is hard to maintain a hair style, which is why I wear a a lot of ponytails, and one of the reasons I decided to let hair color grow out last year. I am 59 with salt and pepper hair. The sweating drips down my body. My hands get sweaty too. There are towelettes that help keep body parts from sweating (Sweatblock), but it's not for the hair, and I don't feel comfortable putting it on my face, since most of the sweating comes from the hair, and it does feel like antiperspirant. Not sure it could take make-up or sunscreen, assuming I would apply first, and what it would do to my skin. Haven't tried.
I tried a prescription medicine to counteract the sweating but it caused me to stop #1 and #2, and I had terrible abdominal cramps, so I stopped that second medicine fast.
I will try these drops. Would love to stay in touch on this subject, which is so distressing. I placed an order for Dynamic Nutritional Assocs. D82 with Naturally Botanicals. The bottle had one small difference, a hyphen between the D and the 82. Hope it's the right product and that it helps!!!! It was $21, free shipping.
Thanks @monicakm and everyone else for sharing your stories.

Keeping my fingers crossed it works for you and everyone that is going to try it. Where are all you people who sweat like me when out in public. I'm not seeing you! lol I feel like I'm the only person this side of the Mississippi that has this problem. You guys must all live on the other side of the MS river If I could get off of Cymbalta for Fibro Myalgia pain, I could sweat even less. But I'm happy with the difference so I'll not complain.
