I have been thinking about her too and wondering what's keeping her from posting. Hope we hear back from her.

@monicakm I do too. I hope she's okay, I think she posted here for quite awhile and she stopped about the time QVC said they were shutting this forum down.
I've always wondered how to bookmark a thread here, I never figured it out or could even find that option. Just curious if you somehow have this thread bookmarked, and if yes, I'd love to know how you do that.

There you are! Nice to "see" you. Hopefully life has settled down enough for you to pop in here and there.
I'm looking at my other knee needing replaced probably in Jan.
My brother died from cancer on Aug 21st ![]()
I don't know what happened to @decaf . I miss her terribly.

I took Cymbalta for a while and it increased by sweating to the point that leaving the house was difficult. I was pouring sweat down my face sitting still and in air conditioning. Soaking my hair completely sweating and running down my face. The bad thing was that it really helped my joint pain but the sweating was more than I could handle.
I had my entire scalp botoxed and it did help the sweating on my head. But and this is a big BUT I had compensatory sweating on the rest of my face and neck. I only did the injections one time on my scalp. I had Botox on my forehead and around my eyes and that helped the sweating there. Plus I like the cosmetic effects of gettin Botox there. Currently holding off on the Botox since my radio frequency treatments.
The latest thing I have tried is radiofrequency micro needling of my face and into my hair about two inches. I had 3 treatments and definitely see benefits in my facial sweating and at my hair line. May have another treatment to augment the results. Be aware that this treatment is uncomfortable and not for anyone who is pain sensitive.
Medications have definitely affected my sweating and I just watch that each time I start a medication. I also find that any medication that helps the sweating as a side effect wears off and I have to cycle on and off that med to maintain results. I currently cycle on oxybutynin to help my sweating but have to go off it when it's effectiveness decreases. The medication I take consistently for sweating is Robinol Forte, but it dries out my mouth, eyes and throat as well. I adjust the dosage based on how much I am sweating.

@monicakm So sorry about your brother. My sincerest condolences.
Hope your pain resolves soon, whether treatment or surgery.
I thought I had seen @decaf post here and there (I just hadn't logged in or posted regularly in months), but I see her most recent post is in February. So that is a long time for her too.
@decaf hope you are OK and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

Hi @Jk9 So nice to read from you! Hope all is otherwise well. I was at one time like you in your first paragraph. I have gone through a lot of things since I posted about sweating, and the worst sweating stopped on its own, just like it started. I still get some excess sweating at times (out of the home, while active and under stress), but not as often. I receive no treatment for sweating, the sweating drops were not effective for me. Hope your management techniques are making things more bearable. I hope your excess sweating goes away!
So because of my significant reduction in sweating, I would not do the full scalp botox at this time (no need), which I had been planning to do, but it looks like you are trying new cosmetic treatments. Had never heard of radiofrequency micro needling. Interesting. I had thought of microneedling, but haven't tried it, not in a position to be consistent about it at this time. I don't have much wrinkling, but have thankfully lost some weight which has led to saggy skin (face, chin, arms, legs), which I would like to address. My weight loss plateaued. I need to lose more weight, but I want my skin to improve before I make another big push to lose more weight, which would entail another major change in what and how I eat.
I am taking Vital Proteins (collagen) products, which I think have made a difference, not only skin wise, but sleep and stomach issues, and I will be trying at home red light and vibration therapies. I am planning full body on the red light. It is supposed to help with body pains, and I could use that. Read some and will read more of the lengthy red light thread @monicakm participates in. Also spraying my body with PTR retinol! I think it helps! Skin is better. May try buying tretinoin from the source Silleemee uses. She has also discussed at home microneedling, which I may try in the future. I looked into it, and the research backs its effectiveness.
