Laura Geller's Garden Party kit was selling for $59.50 (I had thought that seemed kind of high). During the presentation, the price sticker on the box clearly read $49.

Re: Super Saturday - Big Oops!

I thought Super Saturday was supposed to have products at 50% off retail. I didn't notice very many this year at all online. I'm not around on Sat. afternoons. You would think the vendors could step up a little more for this occasion. It is tax deductible and it's great PR. Philosophy used to have some nice deals.

Me too, dep. Logo had some great deals online that didn't make it on air. Somehow the ball got dropped with LG. Too bad, because when the prices are so good, I'll buy more. I just ask to please not be ripped off. :-(

Re: Super Saturday - Big Oops!

The items are "half off the manufacturer's suggested retail price" which might not be the price they are sold at in stores or on QVC.  The RLM earrings were being sold for $64, but in the presentation for J270047, Jennifer shows them and mentions they are on 4 easy pays of $21.

The Carolyn Pollack enhancer had been presented before as well.

Sandra posted that $9 million was raised - if everyone likes their purchases, it's a win win regardless.

Not to take away from the event which is great--raising money for research--but 9 million is the total raised across all the years they've hosted the event; not just this year.

Re: Super Saturday - Big Oops!

From what I saw of the show, it looked like a QVC rummage sale.

I wasn't impressed either.  I must be remembering it wrong but I thought we used to get better sale prices and the profit went to the charity, so everyone was a "winner".

I suspect the shoppers who get the real bargains (and where the most money is raised) are those who can attend the actual event.

Terrible Super Saturday this year.  I can get better deals elsewhere so just give directly to the charity and call it a day.

Re: Super Saturday - Big Oops!

I just responded in fashion that I caught that too plus a blogger who reviewed the kit took a photo of the box and the price is right there.  The box also lists the retail value of the kit at $137.00 so going by that, the QVC price should have been $68.50.  The price doesn't make sense no matter how you look at it.

I thought the event was pretty bad overall although I did buy 2 items.  They didn't have the higher-end items they have had in the past and even the vendors who normally contribute didn't seem to do much.  They showed the Halo and Perfect Formula nail kit twice.

Some of the new items were previewed on-line early and sold out before they could even air them.

Wasn't that GILI bag old?  Basically it was on clearance.

I also said in another thread, I think because Lisa had a personal connection to this cause, she was able to get some better items.  It seems to me that even in years past, they showed more personal stories from survivors or family members of those who have passed.

Re: Super Saturday - Big Oops!

As I said before, two of the items were available on the QVC site for less money than on the Super Saturday Site.

I know the money is going to a good cause and under no circumstances do I think QVC doesn't benefit from this. But, pricing is bogus and misleading.

Why sell inferior products on Super Saturday?

Specifically the Bowflex and Selfie Items.
