Sun/age spots & AHA question

I've introduced an AHA toner/exfoliator (8%) to my regimen.

Ingredients: Distilled Water, Aloe Vera juice, Lactic Acid, Gluconoactone and Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Bicarbonate

My only sun spot that is on my cheek has turned darker, much darker. :-(

Is this to be expected?

Will it fall off?

Should I worry & cease the use of that toner?
