Suggestions for Unscented, Moisturizing Bar Soap...

...that doesn't clog my drain. Years ago, a dermatologist I went to, to have a mole checked, suggested I use Dove bar soap for my dry skin. He even had samples in a bowl on the counter. I've been using it ever since. But, my aging skin is getting so dried out, I am looking for something with more moisturizing properties.

My SIL used to use Tone soap, but it clogged her shower drain because there was too much oil in it. Granted, that was about 35 years ago. I don't usually spend any time thinking about my dry skin, but I'm starting to. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

IMO, Dove Unscented is the best moisturizing bar soap.

Having said that, I think you are expecting too much from ANY bar soap.   You need a better moisturizer to apply when you pat dry.

Oh!   Just thought of something recommended to me ... Neutrogena has a light oil that can be put on damp skin.  Supposedly a good product.  I've never tried it, but merely passing on that rec.

I use CeraVe Hydrating face cleanser. I have not had any issues using it. They also make it in a bar. Says it has 5% moisturizing cream.

Or you could try a homemade goat milk soap.

Have you tried using liquid body washes ?  I have not used bar soap in my shower for 30 years.

I am sure many will suggest Beekman to you.

I feel like I am always tooting their horn, LOL, but I really like Beekman products.   Been using the soap for several years now and I love it.  Rinses nice and clean too!  The shampoo does the same but I mostly use my Wen or Tweak'd, DH uses the Beekman.

It's done wonders for him as he has botanical allergies and sensitivity to scents.  I buy him the pure unscented.

Thanks, Ladies! I have not gone to liquid soap, because DH likes a bar soap, and we just don't have room for much in our shower. I never thought about goat milk soap. I might give that a try.

I have been using Josie Maran argon oil whip on my arms and legs for years. But lately I've switched to the Gold Bond that was recently suggested on these forums. It isn't as oily. I use Olay on my face. I just need a moisturizing soap for the parts I don't use a topical moisturizer on.

@Tinkrbl44  I didn't think of the Nutrogena oil spray. I would worry about residual oil falling all over the bathroom, but maybe it's easier than it sounds.

I thought I couldn't live without a deodorant soap, but many years ago I switched to Beekman goat milk soap and won't use anything else.  Yes it's a little pricey but it keeps my skin soft and moisturized.  Give it a try. They have pure soap without a scent if fragrance is a concern.

Another vote for Beekman 1802 100% pure goat milk unscented soap bars.   One bar lasts forever, is very moisturizing and makes a lot of lather when you use only a small amount. It is all that we use in our house.  I used to only use liquid body wash but this product changed my mind. It is that good.

I think I must have weird skin because everyone seems to like Beekman soap but when I've tried to use it I find it drys me out and leaves a strange film.

I have super dry skin too, I always have and I use liquid soap and not a lot on my body where I don't really get too dirty.

It doesn't really matter too much what soap I use as long as it's not super harsh and as long as I use a good moistuizer right after my bath when my skin is still wet.

Some of my favorite after bath moistuizers are: Amlactin 12%, Gold Bond retinol, cerave cream, Alpha Hydroxy and ISDIN Body Lotion Uradin 10
