HonnyBrown...for me the OTC med "Stye" wiped it out! I know what a stye feels like just when it is starting so that is when I start using it. Maybe I'm just lucky! Either way,,,I'll continue with it! Hope you find something that works for you!

Yes--- try (with all makeup off and face cleansed well) hot compresses. Then---and this is an old Italian wives' remedy that I used to scoff at---until it worked time after time...and then I found out there is some science behind it.

Anyway, after the cleansing and the compresses, take a gold ring that you have "sterilized" in some boiling water, and rub it across the stye several times. Do this as often as you can. Works every time.

That Stye stuff sounds good, too. They did not have that when I had my last stye many years ago.

Wow, so someone else has heard of this too! {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

HAHA--yup-- I posted here just now about this--- thought it was Grandma's Italian "remedy"---then read that there is science behind it.

I know I had posted about it here once before.

Everyone, thank you for your suggestions!

I tried the gold ring, my high school ring that never comes off, and it worked. The stye popped and was leaking by the time I woke up. There is still some swelling or puffiness, but I'm not too concerned about that.

Thank you again!

I isnt that something HonnyBrown? I am so glad you found relief, now next time you feel one coming on, do that immediately. I am not sure how that works but it does!

SeaGal, this will happen again in a year when I get a gwp from MAC. I always forget! And I think it's exactly what sidsmom said, I don't get all of the makeup off.

Hot compresses, teabags or a product called Stye.

Teabag worked like a charm for me too (a doctor I know suggested it).

As I just mentioned in another thread, the stye I got was a reaction to Josie Maran's argon oil (which made my whole face break out almost instantly).
