Started on retin a every other night-what about the other nights? Help!

Evening ladies, I saw the derm and was started on retin a gel for blackheads (yuck!). I am on it every other night. So, in the morning I use my Josie Maran SPF and nothing else (though I am tempted to) However, would it be ok to use my perricone on the nights I don't use it? I could just use argon oil, but I just feel I need something on those days. Thanks for your help,!
