St. Tropez Oil vs. Vita Liberata Self Tanner

Hello Beauties, If anyone has used both of these products I'd love to hear your results/opinions. I have used/loved STT mousse for several years but like most of you I'm always on the lookout for an even better product. THANKS in advance.

Etc etc. .. and how many times do u have to rub it in? I saw the lady in green rubbing the h£ll out of the ladies am. .ouch... but I guess we will have to read the lucky ladies reviews... jmo

Vita Liberata gives a very lasting color. I have not tried the St. Tropez Oil but I checked reviews on Sephora site and many complained that the color did not last. This certainly an interesting concept because applying oil over a self tanned body will cause the color to come off. After reading the reviews I don't think that I will be trying it.

Re: St. Tropez Oil vs. Vita Liberata Self Tanner

Hey there! My daughter purchased the Vita Liberata tanner last week and insisted I try it. She just loved it and convinced me to give it a go. I have to say I was very impressed. My skin is dry at times but I found it to be super moisturizing. I used the mitt so it was easy enough to apply without that stickiness that you sometimes find in tanners. There was no smell and the color was divine! Not too dark, just a nice healthy glow.

Let me know how you get on with it.

Hi All ... may I ask which Vita Liberata tanner you have used? i just checked the Sephora Website and there seem to be several different ones. Are you referring to the mousse that supposedly lasts 2-3 weeks? And regardless of which one you used .... how long did the color last? TIA, Maria

Yes, that is the Vita Liberata that I used. However, their description is a little misleading. They suggest that you do 2-3 applications and that is what gives the 2-3 wks of lasting color. I never did that because it takes too long. You have to apply let it set for so many hours then shower and repeat the process. I would say that I got 5-6 days from Vita and now self tanner gave me that type of lasting power.

Re: St. Tropez Oil vs. Vita Liberata Self Tanner

Definitely Vita Liberata.

St. Tropez is okay, but VL gives me much better color (I used the mousse in both products).

FYI - neither the Tarte or the Josie Moran product worked at all on me. Kate Summerville's towelettes and Jergens turn me orange. So I have tried lots.

If I want short term color - BE works for me. It is supposed to give a tan color that lasts a few days, but it seems to work more like a bronzer for me as most of it washes off the next day. Also I have a lot of transfer with the BE product.

Michele

PS I am fair skinned, and don't really tan - just burn then turn back to pale

Re: St. Tropez Oil vs. Vita Liberata Self Tanner

Vita Liberata also makes a rapid tan mousse which I have ordered to try. The concept is it will give you a tan within an hour and then you can either choose to let it darken or shower it off at that point. Then after the 2nd hour, the same thing - if you like the depth of color then shower or leave it on for the full blown results.

I ordered because I wanted to try the rapid tan for fast results. I guess the trick will be to try it at a time when I can shower after an hour (or two) if I don't want the tan to deepen any further. The concept is kind of neat, imo.

I have read over and over and over (there are lots of reviews out there) that VL delivers on all their promises from easy application, very quick drying (tho I think mousses dry faster than lotions generally) no scent, no streaking, no orange, long lasting, no color transfer and fades very evenly. I just ordered a sample size of the Phenomenal (sp or proper title??) 4-7 day mousse and am looking forward to giving it a go.

There has not been a ST on the market that I've tried that didn't cause some orange on my lower legs so am really looking forward to this one. I will admit I was also swayed by the fact that VL was created in Ireland so am hopeful the developers understood the tendency for pale, freckled Irish skin to turn orange with your typical ST. And yes, I am one of those pale, freckled Irishmen!!Wink
