I recently discovered squalane (not to be confused with squalene, a different thing) after researching acne. My son was breaking out in tiny pimples on his forehead and this type of acne feeds on oils, except squalane. BHA, we use Paula's Choice 2% BHA and squalane healed the acne. I purchased the Timeless squalane (olive derived) 2 oz bottle for around $12. What a deal! It will last a long time. I also use it to moisturize under my eyes before applying makeup because it soaks in and isn't greasy. Just a tiny drop is all that is needed under the eyes.

@zanna wrote:I have very dry, sensitive, mature skin. I cannot tolerate Retin-A so I'm using The Ordinary's Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane. So far, this has been pleasant to use with no negative reactions. I've been using Deciem and The Ordinary products for a couple of years and my skin has responded beautifully.
The Ordinary's 100% Plant-Derived Squalane (30ml) is available for $7.90 and their products are not tested on animals. They offer a 365-day full refund. Go for it!
Thank you very much. I will look this company up!

@wagirl wrote:I have used it too. I believe it is from olives and olive oil is very good for your skin. I used olive oil and vit E together to put on my skin after radiation for cancer--worked like a charm. Toward the last week of rads, my skin got very burned like many others go thru but when I was done my skin healed up very quickly. It is very soothing and moisturizing.
Thank you for your input and glad that this is helping you! When you say "rads", are you meaning radiation? If so, I wish you much success in your treatments!!!

@AngelPuppy1 wrote:I was looking for something on the computer and I came across some topics on squlane. It is supposedly very good for skin issues and very gentle and easily absorbed into the skin. But the articles I saw said to make sure to use the kind made with olives not shark oil. Just wondered if anyone had used this oil and what you thought? Thanks.
@AngelPuppy1I would recommend you go to the Evine site and look up Skinn Oleo Serum - watch the video. It has the concentrated olive oil plus some others. I've been using this for a couple of months now and I LOVE it. I tried going the oil route for skincare treatments a few years ago and it wasn't for me. The results weren't good and I didn't like how my skin felt. The Skinn Oleo Serum is different from any other oil type treatment product I've ever tried. It's more of a light gel consistency yet it gives all the benefits of the oil without feeling oily.
Sounds wonderful! I cannot tolerate most oils, nor do I like that feeling on my skin either! This might just be the ticket. I thank you!!!

@Fressa wrote:I use Dr. Denese skincare products and I believe some of them contain squaline. I have very fair, sensitive skin with a ton of issues and allergies and these work for me. I am also 50+ and holding. I don't have luck with the retinol products in general because they seem to be too strong for me. I'm on the extreme end of what works because of all of my "issues" so once I find a product I stick with it.
Thank you! I appreciate your reply. I am most encouraged by what I am reading about squalane!!!

@aubnwa01 wrote:I've been using only 100% squalane as a moisturizer twice as day on dampish skin after my shower & at the end of the day after cleansing before bed for about 8-9 years. I buy an 8 oz. bottle from Garden of Wisdom (it's in their Raw Ingredients/Carrier & Exotic Oils section) about once a year & transfer it into a glass bottle w/dropper to use in the bathroom. Love the stuff & it's never broken me out. I tried argan oil & it's OK, but is slightly too heavy for my facial skin, so I stick with squalane.
Thank you! I am always worried about breaking out or having reactions from products. I am really wanting to try this stuff. Hope it works for me, too!

Thank you. It must be very soothing --- I need that!
