For those of you who get your hair cut routinely and wear a style that needs "styled" (by you at home) do you find that your hairdresser gradually starts cutting your hair differently? I have run into this for as long as I can remember.  Various hairdressers, including the one I have now and I dearly love. My style, over the months, just seems to morph into something a bit different. Not drastically different but enough where it doesn't style the way I wanted to.

Take a photo of your chosen hairstyle with you then take it everytime you go "just as a reminder".

Yes, it definitely has. I initially liked one but she must have had burn out....it wasn't the same, even if I brought a picture or reminded her. After consulting others, I chose someone else.

I have short shoulder length hair with a keratin treatment, there are days I do not even have to comb my hair. it just falls in to place,

OFF TOPIC.gifsort of.......

@I am still oxox    I use to work this girl who had naturally curly wavy shoulder length hair.  She would come to work, go straight into the ladies room finger comb her hair then gave her head a good shake then BOOM hair fell into place.  Me---> Smiley Surprised

One raining morning, I saw her pick some baby breaths which grew outside the building we worked in.  I followed her into the bathroom to see her grab her hair after finger combing, rolled hair into a french twist.  She lined the french roll w/the baby breaths then lined her face w/springy curles.

One day I asked her if she ever combs or brush her hair.  She stated, very rarely & only after she washes if her hair gets tangled.   I was dumb founded.

Take a picture of how you want it done with you.  Ask to come as close as possible.  She's not magician, she can't get it to look exactly like the picture but a good stylist can come close or explain to you why she can't.  Also ask for instructions on how to maintain the style yourself.  Write the instructions down.

I think this does happen with time.  That's I also have a conversation prior to the shears coming out.  I tell her what I liked about the last cut and what maybe wasn't working.

No.  I change it, she doesn't.

Yes. The time before last, she was talking too much to the other stylist and lost track.  I had pieces of hair everywhere.  So I waited for about 4 months for it to grow out.  My hair is naturally wavy and shoulder length.  I couldn't get it into a decent ponytail cause she chopped me.  Next time (3 mos ago) I jokingly told her girl you gave me a salad of a haircut last time.  She apologized and this time we just trimmed it. 😵‍💫🥹

I don't brush my hair. I don't even own a brush so it air dries and I put mousse on my dry hair, scrunch, toss and go.  Got good waves again!

Sometimes I think she gets bored with my head.

@Kachina624

Well, I don't have a photo of it.  I have this photo of the back that I have shown her a few times and I think it's pretty accurate.  I don't know what happens.   After I'm home and I style my hair (and like it) I send her a text with a Thumbs Up on Noto Emoji Font 15.0and let her know I love it.
