Do you think using makeup that has shine in it makes it look fresher or dewier? I really do not like to wear shiny makeup. They can use all the fancy words they want like "illuminizing" or 'brightening" but in the end it all comes down to them using some reflective material like mica to make it look like glitter n your skin. I esp. do not think that is a good look for a woman my age (65). it may be fine for teens and 20 somethings but , IMO, that is all. And it is not easy to find inexpensive MU these days that doesn't have this in it.

I am 63, and I use NO makeup with glitter.

I am in my 50s and I don't like a lot of glitter in makeup. It is VERY hard sometimes to find cosmetics without glitter and sparkle.

I don't mind something really understated like BB's shimmer wash shadows, because those are a bit reflective but not glittery but her sparkle shadows, OMG they are just like smearing glitter on your eyes. I was so surprised, when I saw her bring these sparkle shadows out, because she's been known for helping women with natural makeup looks for so long and built her business that way.

I'm really surprised she would bring out such a glittery sparkly shadow like that, that is so unflattering on older eyes. Not for me at all.

I'm 58 and while very choosy about which illuminating products I use, I have found one that just gives a youthful glow above cheekbones. I absolutely ADORE it.

I agree about Bobbi Brown shadows. As we get older, at totally matte eye can look muddy and aging. I don't think you go full out.. but a touch in the center of the lid really opens the eye and makes a subtle statement.

The right luminizer doesn't put any sparkles on your face. OMG no.

Do ladies really believe that any makeup they may wear can actually make them look younger than they are or than they look anyway. i think you may only be fooling yourself. And, IMO, women who are older and go around wearing clothing and makeup that is too young for them just look either like they are half simple or really trying way too hard.

Yes, women actually believe it does make them look younger. And, if done properly, IT ACTUALLY DOES. Have you never seen before and after pics? That's not subjective. They look younger to other people, in many situations. I understand that many don't like the BB sparkle shadows, but I love them. I'm 32, and don't want to wear all matte all the time, so I love that she's expanded her line some, as I'm a big BB fan and customer. As for the luminizer, there are several out there that aren't sparkly/glittery, and just give dimension and sheen.

I do think wearing makeup can make you look younger, brighter and more polished! I look way nicer with foundation, a bit of eye MU and a luminizer. I do know I won't get carded at the packy.

Sparkle & glitter are very different than fresh and/or dewy. No one should have glitter on their face unless they are performing with Circ du Soleil or some similar group. Oh, streetwalkers (not high class ones) do seem to wear this look, too.
