I saw several people asking on a prior thread so I will do my best to explain. The sock bun method of putting your hair into a bun is fairly easy. You can find utube videos and directions on Pinterest (I added a Pinterest demo below.) This is great for when you don't want to blow dry your hair and if you leave it for the day or overnight you have beautiful wavy/curley hair for next day hair.

You take a sock (I find the best results with my husband's dress socks), cut the toe section off and then roll the sock up so it looks like a donut. For best curl results make sure your hair is damp (not wet- damp). You can find utube videos and directions on Pinterest (I added a Pinterest demo below.)

Put your hair into a ponytail on the top of your head and then hold the end of the ponytail straight in the air and take your sock and place the ends of your hair into the donut hole and wrap the ends around the donut. Now roll the sock down toward the ponytail holder wrapping your hair around the sock so that your hair completely surrounds the sock. Roll till the sock and ponytail holder meet. You may or may not need some bobbypins to secure the bun.

Your hair at this point should look like a ballerina bun on the top of your head. Hope this helps.

I love this method for getting curls in my hair without heat (found it on the WEN forum!). Thanks for letting people know- I just read that in the other thread that they were asking about it. Smiley Happy

Here is the website posted with a step by step guide and a video too I think. You can google sock bun method and it will come up with tons of other videos or blogs. When I do this, I truly get the curls as shown in the link below. It takes a few times to get it just right so that your ends don't look funky and if you have really long hair, like I did, then sometimes you have to have someone help you.

My nieces do this and I think it's so cool & cute. Waiting for my hair to get a little longer and I'll give it a try.Smiley Happy
