I keep seeing commercials for these invisalign type systems you can do directly from other manufacturers which they are saying is 50% or more cheaper then thru ones dentist. I know my dentist offers this but it is 4500.00 and they do the mold and the people at invisalign make up all the clear retainers you wear thur out treatment. My son did this and it is expensive.
I see the Smile Direct lists the price around 2400.00....I wonder if this is legit? I need to correct my bite.
If anyone has experience with this please share!!

@tsavorite- I checked into it. I wore braces in my early teen years, but my teeth have moved a little and aren't as perfect as they once were. You pay 90 monthly (if I remember correctly) and you are able to cancel at anytime. After you receive your first set, if you're not happy, they will refund your first payment. I've wanted to do this for a long time and it sounded good from the little research I did.

@tsavorite I also looked into it. Most of the online reviews are positive. However, the negative reviews talked about the length of time people waited to initially get the aligners and the poor customer service when people had problems with them. I've decided to stick with my dentist.

I also had a bite problem that was causing my teeth to wear and damaged a crown in the back.
Cosmetically I was fine and NEVER would have fixed it but the damage I could not tolerate.
My case was simple and "mild" per the several dentists I spoke to.
Even with my simple, straight forward correction I can not believe how not simple and detailed the process is. I can NOT imagine doing this "online, DIY"
Just for starter in the office there is no molds they lasers for precision.
I still cringe at the $6700 price tag, but for my dental health it is worth it.
BUT the process is no where as simple as they make it seem. I can not imagine how difficulty it is for those with crooked teeth!
Good Luck!

@tsavorite I’m on my last month of Invisalign to correct my bite/jaw issues. It’s expensive, but worth it at least for me. My son went to the same Orthodontist when he was about nine years old for braces and I trusted that he would do a great job with me. The initial assumption was that it would take 12-18 months for my teeth to align. But it’s been 10 months and I’ll be onto my nightly retainer in a month or so. The good news is that because it didn’t take so long I didn’t have to pay as much as they thought.
Because the equipment the Dr uses is very sophisticated-a scanner is used to get every surface of every tooth there’s no way it could be done without an Orthodontist.

You bring up an interesting point. I forgot to mention there are options on the fee structure.
You are paying less for less time.
I opted for the flat fee price that covers EVERYTHING including change in plans or situations for one price. If it takes 1 yr or 3 yrs same price.
I need a tooth pulled (the one damaged from my bite) after my implant we can add more trays to make further adjustments based on the new crown for no additional cost.
My orginal plan was only 7 months. From there all new scans were taken to fine tune each tooth and bite. Old attachments removed, new one put on and all new trays started.
I should only need 1 fine tuning until I get the one tooth replaced, then who knows. ??
The dentists I spoke to said most people need several revisions or fine tunings as no one can predict the future. The fine tunings are the subtle movements and adjustments.
OP you may want to find out how the Clubs handle this process. Is it included in the $$ or additional $$

@Abrowneyegirl My original set price was about $6000 which included office appointments, scanning, the dreaded attachments, refinements, night only retainers, etc.
Apparently, since my top teeth were pretty straight and only needed tweaking I was done a lot sooner than anticipated. My bottom front teeth were being compromised by my top teeth because my teeth had shifted a little over the years. My regular dentist thought that maybe I could use a night guard, but my Orthodontist said that wouldn’t correct the alignment , so I went with the Invisalign. My total, investment came to just under $4000. It was well worth it,but I’m
glad that it’s almost over.
Good luck with your implant,if that’s the route you choose. 😊
