Pretty!  The only downside about silk pillowcases is going to bed right after putting your night face on.  It can be a little sticky.

@KingstonsMom : that's a good price for the pair, except for the additional $5.50 s/h.

I bought several single silk pillowcases from AMZ to gift for Christmas this year.

Re: Silk Pillow Case

[ Edited ]

Thanks, have been looking for one at a reasonable price .

 Extra bonus this one has a zipper so that it stays on the pillow.  Silk can just slide off a pillow while you sleep . I see this one comes in solid colors and multiple prints to choose from.

care instructions

  • Hand wash recommended
  • Machine washing in gentle cycle
  • Hang dry in cold and ventilated place

I purchased pillow "covers" at BB&B for less than $10 each...has a zipper. Not silk, but a slippery fabric which is all I need to keep skin and hair off a cotton case. I've had 5 in rotation, just throw in the washer. I change cases every other night because of the night creams, etc. and mousse or hairspray in my hair.

...Not sure you need silk to get that same effect.

@monicakm and ladies - why do you sleep on silk or "slippery" pillowcases?  I've never had one.

Yes. I wash them on hand wash cycle and dry them for about 5 min on low, Sometimes the zipper doesn't get completly dry so I just ahng them over a towel rack

I believe the ones I got from Amazon are 22 mummy weight.  The higher the mummy weight, the better they are.  They are the same weight as the Blissy but cost a lot less.

I have a silk pillow case. It has regular cotton fabric on one side b/c that helps keep the pillow from sliding around on the bed as it would do if both sides were satin. But I honestly don't care for the silk pillow case b/c my face seems to stick to it and it's not b/c of my skincare products. It just happens so I put the thing away.

@skatting44

I've never had one that didn't have a zipper and the zippers are "hidden" so it looks just like the seam/hem.

@Shanus

What is the difference between a pillow "case" and "cover"?  If it's slippery and not silk, it's satin.  Silk is a natural fiber.  Satin is a weave made from polyester or nylon that is derived from petroleum.
