Shellac manicure question

Does anyone know if there is a less expensive/OTC brand? I would love to try the Shellac manicure however it will cost 35.00 plus a tip twice a month. I looked on ebay and found the polishes which are also pricey but you also have to have the UV machine dryer that cures it. Just wondering if there is any other alternative for a do-at-home job. TIA
