Botox is also suppose to help with migraines. Doctors don't recommend it for that unless a person has a number of migraines per month. It's not used lightly for medical purposes.

The only time I would get Botox  is for migraines, if I had that problem and there was no other remedy that worked. I don't like the idea of injecting  toxins in my body. Getting toxin  injections because of vanity doesn't sound good in the long run.

According to the NIH...

"There are no long-term or life-threatening adverse effects related to botulinum toxin treatment for any cosmetic indications." Feb 5, 2019

I agree with the OP.  Such vanity.  Grow old gracefully for goodness sakes.  So many other pressing issues.

I have watched that commercial several times now and I think it's fake.  He is made to scrunch up his face the first time around, but not the second time he is shown.  I just don't believe it.  I almost think he has something over his face on the second shot to make it look smoother and no, I don't think it's botox.

I have a deep wrinkle in my forehead that I've had most of my adult life.  The best way to not have wrinkles is to prevent them.  However, for me, I don't like needles.  I've heard that it can migrate and cause problems.  Plus, I remember hearing the commercials that say if you've had Myasthena Gravis (similar to Lou Gherig's disease), not to use it.  I haven't had MG, but I had an aunt that did, so I wouldn't want to take the chance.

I see many women with Botox and fillers....age 30 and beyond. It's their business as long as they don't charge it to me.

Botox sometimes only lasts 3-4 months. The most expensive fillers can last a year or more. Those are injected deep near the bone...hopefully by a facial plastic surgeon to avoid hitting nerves/muscles.

If done correctly and tastefully, it's not my concern. When a women ends up with "melon face" or their necks are wrinkled and sagging, but their face doesn't match because smoothe as a baby's butt...looks just weird to me.

You are correct. As someone who gets fillers and Botox oy, the misinformation. It is not injected near the bone. Fillers are inserted under the skin to create volume, and Botox and the like are injected into the muscle. I have had both injected by a board-certified Dermatologist, Med Spas, and at a local esthetician, and the board-certified Derm was my least favorite.
