@MrsCat21

I have used a setting spray for 4 years. I use urban decay all nighter. Does it help? Yes it does. I don't need it three or four months out of the year. But in the warmer months here in Texas my face perspires. If I blot my face with a Kleenex or a paper towel and I have not used a setting spray I will have foundation transfer. If I use my setting spray and blot my face there is no Foundation transfer. I have the Natasha denona powder foundation. I will use the Charlotte Tilbury setting spray to bring back some glow to the matte powder foundation. For a Ironclad setting spray that would probably keep your foundation on if you were swimming, Patrick Starr's One Size.  Very drying though.

Totally forgot I had the Mac Fix Plus setting spray. I don't remember what I thought of it so I'll use it tomorrow.

Nikki LA Rose has a recent video on Lux vs Drugstore.  In it, she discusses setting sprays.  I already have my opinion on them and she agrees with me, yes, they are usually necessary.  I only use them in warmer weather.  I think setting sprays are the last category of the video.

I rely on Mally's Face Defender to set my makeup most of the time, but I also use Laura Geller's Spackle Mist Boost Setting Spray- love the scent of this one.  Smiley Happy

The alcohol is what makes it dry down and make your makeup last. That would be your final step. I am using Tarte life lock which  has none so I am not sure how it makes your makeup llast but it does

@MrsCat21   There are some that must be hydrating. Denatured Alcohol can have acetone, solvents and other ingredients which are drying to the skin. They also keep the setting spray from staying wet on the skin and drying more quickly.

I wish I could recommend one with out alcohol, but that's one of the reasons I don't use one.

Charlotte Tilbury setting spray has Phenethyl Alcohol and it's the very last ingredient.  It's also the least drying of the 3 setting sprays I have.

The new Tarte life lock has no alcohol in it. It’s pretty hydrating.

Urban Decay is highly rated and makes at least 4 versions.......some for more dry skin, another for normal/oily and even one with Vitamin C. Check it out. Currently on sale at AMZ.
