I just use water.  I put a bit on my palms, rub my hands together, blot off the excess, and then pat my face.  I use IT CC cream, which is waterproof, so it doesn't disturb the make-up at all.  I would never pay for a setting spray.

@KCDiva,

I think rosewater is perfect for dry skin. Sometimes I just spray it on to give my skin a moisture boost when I'm not wearing any makeup or not. I love this stuff. Uses for rosewater:

Toner

Makeup remover

Hair treatment

Eye brightener

Aftershave treatment

Bath additive

Makeup refresher

Aromatherapy

An 8oz. bottle costs only $10!

Do you feel anything on your face after you spray it on or does it just dry or soak in? I've wondered about those as well. I have dry skin.

Setting sprays don't leave any filmy feeling of any sort on the skin. Some will make your skin feel more hydrated (cooling) and some help with oily skin, but there isn't like a feeling to it. It feels much like just a light mist of water if anything.

I have tried many different ones, but the one I'm using right now is the Cinema Secrets setting mist. I got mine from Sephora, and I really love it. I also just reordered the Ben Nye spray from Camera Ready Cosmetics. The Ben Nye is my favorite and it smells like spearmint. It locks my makeup in place!! I will cont to repurchase this one

Avon has one and I've been using it for a few years now.  It's about $7.00, a generous size, and it's the best I've used and let me tell you, it does it's job!  I live in Southern Illinios and it gets hot and sticky here.  It keeps my makeup on when I work out at lunch time, when I go boating and when I ride my motorcycle (with a helmet).  I am quite pleased with it.
