Re: Serious Skincare "Farewell Tour" banner is up at ShopHQ

Some well priced kits tonight. I may pick up a few Ultra-Mare Trio - Renewal Oil Serum & Creme $49.95. I did the math and with shipping and tax it basically $21.00 which is still a great price for each item separately. Especially the oil which is my favorite oil I use now. Plus, it's a 1 oz bottle of oil. Great! I bought this same kit last Christmas and it was on sale at $69.95. They said kits like this will not be available on Serious direct so I may jump on it.

The Luxury AM/PM 6-Piece Face & Eye Regimen is also a good kit. I love the  Ultra-Mare line.

@BdBettyB  What do you love about the Ultra Mare line?  I haven't bought any SSC in years other than the Phyto Pumpkin scrub (I still have an 8.8oz jar in my stash from the last time it was at this price).  The oil and serum do have good reviews, although not a lot of them.  What type of results do you see?

The only oils I've been using are the Skinn Divine Elixir with Manuka Honey and the Secret Elixir (using that one up). I'm not a big oil person so oils last me a really long time.  And I'm thinking of getting the HSN Beauty Box with the .51oz of the Korres Olive 3 in 1 Oil.

@BdBettyB I was watching one of the shows this morning and heard them speaking about farewell to Serious Skin Care.  I have never used their products, but was sad to hear this.

@MG Chris the doctor's line is on overkill.  That's just too much.  I have ATT Uverse and the TV guide, for example, will say Kate and Mallery.  When I select okay on my remote to watch K&M, it's doctor and his products.  lol

I've never been a huge fan of serious skincare, but my impression has always been that they make highly active ingredients for a lower price point. I found them appealing on HSN, less so on shop HQ. it's a shame they couldn't survive. I have and use a bunch of their glycolic products,

I started the UM line 2 years ago. What I love is not seeing my deep forehead, eye and elevens on my face anymore. Now, the wrinkles are still there. No cream will get rid of them but they have lessened significantly. My skin has improve so much over they last few years. I hate using these types of words but really plump and hydrated are the perfect words to describe my results. I don't use much. The creams come with a paddle which snaps to the inner lid. I only use the size of the paddle. I warm it up in my hands first and the pat it on my skin. I use a rose stone roller with the creams when I need it. I have many dry patches on my face, arms and legs. The oil is fabulous for it. I put on the oil and don't need to reapply for a few days. No dry patches. It's really a great product. Yes, I know some don't like  the ingredients and I get it but the deck doesn't bother me. I also use regularly Isomers, Active Agran and Lacome and all work nicely together. I use the SSC A and C lines too but not a often as the past. UM is my main SSC line right now. I also use Skinn and have the oil but I do prefer the SSC UM oil. I have to put on the Skinn oil more often I find but it's a lovely product.

Oh and it's definitely for dry older skin type. If you are oily of combo I'd probably pass on it, IMO.

@MG Chris

Very surprised that Jorge is not doing Waterford!

Are they dropping the line?

They used to do several shows from Ireland.  While I didn't buy any longer, the shows were enoyable and Jorge was always fun to watch.

Re: Serious Skincare "Farewell Tour" banner is up at ShopHQ

@BdBettyB

It is hard to imagine they've run their course on shopping channels.

SSC had serious air time when they were at HSN.  I remember some of their first shows.  Jenn was always so nervous, but seemed sweet.  That's when Lisa would pair with her.

I remember buying some nice kits for my nieces and, over the years, I've used a few of their products.  I know they seemed to have a huge following.

I agree with the poster that said she doesn't like change, and we surely have seen a lot of that in the last few years.  Cat Sad
