I recently ordered a DKNY Pure perfume and body butter set on sale from Sephora. When it arrived there was no plastic packaging over the box or the set itself, and the perfume had about an inch and half of perfume missing from it. The box itself was slipped into a ratty plastic bag. And I mean ratty! It had most definitely been opened, used, and sent back to them. I was appalled, and the very next morning shipped it back off to them with a note inside to insure they didn't think I had used the perfume.

Well, that's been nearly two weeks ago, and I haven't heard a thing from them. I went on their website to check my account info. and it hasn't been credited. I definitely had my paperwork inside and in order.

Since I normally return to a Sephora about a half hour from here, and regret not doing so this time (I wasn't sure I could get there soon enough to insure they didn't think I used the darned perfume), I'm wondering what others experiences are with Sephora returns by mail? Do they notify you when they get it? Any mishaps for anyone?

Thanks.

I know this is an older quetion, but my answer might help others. It does sound so odd. It's not normal for Sephora.com to send a returned item as brand new becase it all ships from a different warehouse. It can take up to 30 days for them to process the return and refund your payment to a credit card, gift card, etc.

Order Returned - "Returned" or "Partial Return"
It takes up to 30 days to process the return and credit your credit card account. Once your order has been returned and processed, the order status will show "Returned" or "Partial Returned." We will notify you via e-mail once your return has been processed.

Trust me, it will take at least 30 days for them to "receive" the package, and another 1-2 weeks to credit you.

I'd ordered a blowdryer from them last Christmas and there was a problem with it, so I purchased a second one and returned the first. They have no tracking number on the website, no way to track the package unless you were smart enough to write down the tracking number (I was not) and I was very concerned that it had gotten lost. At 3 weeks and again at 4 I started communicating with customer service who said they hadn't t received it yet, but I did eventually get my refund. I doubt UPS takes that much longer to ship to Sephira than any other merchandiser. I think they just place returns on their lowest of all priorities and don't process them as soon as they receive them.

Anyway, hope you experience ends up better.p but I will never return a $150 package to Sephira by mail again - I'll drive the 40 minutes if I need to return something.
