Self Tanning 101............ Please share your self tanning techniques,experiences,products,etc....

I have tried a few self tanners and so far I haven't had alot of success.

I have tried the following:

BE Faux Tan - love the color guide but felt it didn't dry quick enough and I felt "dirty" - I was able to use it on my face with no breakouts (I have sensitive acne prone skin) I did like the end result color wise but didn't have luck with maintaining.

Dr. Dennis Gross Glow Pads - Love these for the face! They really do work and you get a treatment at the same time.

Dr. Denese Tanning Pads - I felt these were too "orange" on my skin (I have a light to medium skin tone) It also streaked, however that could be application error on my part) Also did not dry quick enough to suit me.

Malibu Hemp Golden Glow - Used this all last summer and although I really like it, I don't get the color payoff I would like.

Jergens - This also gave off an orange fake color on me.

My questions for the pros are these:

1) How do you self tan around your feet? I always end up looking like I have dirty feet. I try to be very careful.

2) Do you have to let the previous self tanner completely fade before applying again? I have heard people talk about reapplying to get the desired color, but what do you do the next time you need to self tan? Scrub it off and start over or reapply over what is left?

3) I am thinking about trying the St. Tropez TSV, however, I watched the video and when she did her hand, she had to put the mitt on the hand that she just did to do the other hand. Wouldn't the mousse rub off on the inside of the mitt?

It is that time of year again where alot of us who want to stay out of the sun as much as possible are starting to look into self tanning.

I (and I am sure others) would love to hear from those that have "mastered" this process and let us know your techniques and what works for you.

Love to hear thoughts on the different products available. Not everything will work for everyone, but if you would just let us know what works for you, we can all maybe learn something new.

I think my biggest problem is getting my feet correct and also I don't have alot of patience so I want something that will dry quickly so i can get on with whatever I need to do. Smiley Happy

Thanks in advance to anyone who would like to share and help others in their quest to have a tan without the damage from the sun.

There are alot of people who don't embrace self tanners and instead embrace their natural skin color. I am not a lucky person with pretty - even skin so I want some color!
