I gave up on sun and sunless tanners 5 years ago. lost all patience for the tanners. And tired of brown spots from sun. It became a lose lose situation.

I think if your skin color would tan IF you were in the sun, you may be able to make self tanners work, but us pale girls would naturally burn. I'm sure that's why we also have issues finding bronzers that look natural on us.

It just isn't meant to be. I use my blush for color and may add BB's Antiqua bronzer which is a pinkish shade...resembling a sunburn. That's what naturally happens to my skin in the sun. Lol

@Deree

What do you use to exfoliate, if you don't mind me asking? Thanks!

@Knit-Chick

I use the San Tropez foam and have no problem.  I use disposible plastic gloves and apply in circles, NEVER lines.  I am a very light olive, true ashe blonde (origonally) with green eyes.

If my students thought I had gone to a tanning bed after telling them not to, I can guide you as several here can.

I apply my tanner by rubbing it in circles and I keep rubbing until the tanner is dry. I've never had it streak. I use my bare hands then I wash my palms with soap. Works for me.
