I like to wash my hair every other day but my second day hair looks awful.  I sleep on a satin pillow case but when I wake up my hair is tangled and frizzy.  I end up wearing my hair up on the second day but I rather not.  Any suggestions on what to do with it on the second day?  Sometimes I wet it and blow dry again.  A perfector tool?  Hot rollers?

@ninjawife

You need to sleep on a silk pillowcase, not satin. You'll never wake up with hair like that on a silk pillowcase, they're also great for your facial skin.

They're pricey, but oh so worth it! Look up the benefits of sleeping on a silk pillowcase!

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

You can also use Wen replenishing hair mist or Tweak'd hair mist.  Both work nicely for 2nd day hair.  You really shouldn't use just plain water to style your hair as the minerals can cause damage and more drying out.  Those 2 products work for me and I have naturally curly hair.   And yes @KingstonsMom has a good point also regarding the satin pillowcase.

@ninjawife    Have you ever tried a spray dry shampoo?   I don't like my second day hair either...so I occasionally use Dove brand detox and purify dry shampoo.  It freshens my hair enough to hold me over till the next wash.  It doesn't leave a residue on the hair.  Just a light spray at the roots and work it through.   It works well for me.  Might be worth trying....

@LindaSal Do you completely wet you hair with those products then blow it out again?

@Mombo1 Dry shampoo does nothing for the tangles and frizz.

@ninjawife I just spray to dampen the hair and I don't use a hair dryer at all.  I just "scrunch" it to make it look nice again.   Like I said it's curly so I let it air dry.

Have you tried a satin sleeping bonnet?

I wash my hair every five days. I use a dry shampoo on the day I wash my hair only at the roots through my crown. I also use any styling products on the first day. Then each day after I use either Olaplex #7, or Kerastase L'Huile Original Hair Oil. It calms it down and reduces the frizz while giving fantastic shine.

Hot rollers are the quickest for me. I only need 5 to jouge up 2nd & 3rd day hair. (My hair is above shoulder length & layered.) My hair never gets frizzy, I'm glad of that!  But I think it is from the S&C I use. My hair needs moisture (not keratin or protein), and I get good results w/ Carol's Daughter, Goddess.

Silicone rollers work best for me!  (But they are hard to find, and I had to modify how to keep them in.) Before this, it was Caruso. You can search on line for Best Hot Rollers.

High (very high!) thread count pillowcases also helps!

eta: I do not use gels, hairsprays or mousses. Don't know if that helps a frizz problem, or not.
