It sure can be and I will make it more complicated for you.  Ha!  As we age, our skin will become cooler and less intense in color than when we were in our youth.  I was far more warmer in skin tone than I am now in middle-age.  Though the warmth is still there I try to find softer and less intense medium colors to continue to soften my appearance.  That continues to be a challenge, but it really does help in softening my look so I don't get overwhelmed in an overall medium color.  

 

Nothing is easy as we age that is for sure!

And then there's the Sunlit Soft Summer who is frequently mistaken for a Spring because there is warmth in her skin, hair and eyes.

 

Or the Toasted Soft Summer who is mistaken for Autumn.
