WEN everything. Fig and S/B on the roots (due to menthol issue). Air dry. Hot and humid. LONG, thick, heavy, coarse, colored hair.
FRIZZZZZZZZ. I don't know what to do. I put in a braid at night. Frizz. I use oils at night. Frizz. I CC every other day and use FIG as my leave in. Frizz. I use the styling cream and spray together in the shower. Frizz. And it's not a little frizz... it's a HUGE BALL OF FRIZZ.
Help. Me. Please. : (

How long is your hair and how many pumps of styling cream are you using? Chaz has said that if you air dry, to use more styling cream as extra styling cream will help fight frizz better when air drying (ie. if you normally use 1 pump when blow drying, use 2 pumps when air drying). Also, are you towel drying before or after adding styling products? If you towel dry before adding styling products, don't. Add styling products to soaking wet hair first and then towel dry.
My hair used to frizz really badly and it took a while for me to break myself of towel drying before adding styling products (kind of biting your nails - it can take a lot of willpower to stop a habit you've done for years).
You can always call Chaz's salon for help. (323) 467-6444

Have you tried a good flat iron on your hair? I have naturally wavy/frizzy hair and invested in a good flat iron several years ago and can't believe how it transforms my hair. You don't have to go stick straight...the good irons can give you a gentle bend to the hair. My hair in past my shoulders and the flat iron keeps it smooth 95% of the time in humid weather. Sometimes I need to run it through if I get caught in the rain. Reva

That was my frustration, too, with WEN. I tried every which way, and most of the formulas, but finally had to give it up. I'm so happy I did. I don't get any frizz now -- zero, nada! But you may find a solution other than that. (I did like WEN for other reasons.) Alas!

I bought the OTO mousse/styling cream and used it this morning. Oh my gosh, I am a frizzy mess today. Had to put it in a ponytail to hide some of the frizz.

I've battled frizz my entire life and I can offer the following suggestions:
- Be sure to leave-in some conditioner after cleansing (WEN or something else). Frizz is simply your hair looking for moisture.
- DO NOT FLAT IRON! This robs hair of moisture and the moment you hit humidity, you'll soon learn it was all for nothing. Throw the thing away!
- While cleansed and conditioned hair is sopping wet (in shower is when I do this) apply a firm hold gel (silicone free) to all your hair. You can use a shower comb to make sure you get it all, or scrunch in the gel in large sections of your hair. Then scrunch out some of the water lightly with a microfiber towel.
- Never touch your hair with a standard terry towel! Always use a microfiber towel, or even paper towels.
- Define your part, shake your hair loose from your scalp, and if possible, air dry. If not possible, use a diffuser on your dryer on low heat/speed.
- Important: Do not touch your hair at all while drying. It will encourage frizz. Once hair is 95% dry, if your gel has left some crunch, gently scrunch it out with your hands. That gel cast is protecting your hair from frizz while it dries.
All this is part of the "curly girl" routine I use and my frizz is non-existent for the first time in my life. Just remember frizz is searching for moisture.

Instead of air drying, blow dry with a round brush like Chaz shows us and your hair will look beautiful. It's hard not to have frizz when you just air dry, no matter what product/brand you use.

I'm in one of the humidity belts and I am finding this year that the Finishing Cream is my friend. I am using this instead of SC.

I have no frizz when I use Carol's Daughter's hair butter and hair balm. I just decided to try something new. I guess it's just not for me.
