Re: *Screams* I can NOT get this frizz under control!!!!!!!! ++

Doe a Dear, you're so right. There are some really good suggestions here. The one poster nailed it. Frizz is hair looking for moisture. I'm in frizz city where I live but I blow out my hair and if I don't use leave in I spritz while hair is soaking wet with the replenishing spray and of course styling creme. I DO NOT wrap my hair in any towel. I just pin it up out of the way until ready to dry. After applying products it is not dripping anyway, just very, very wet. I then section. I use moderate heat and high fan speed OR high heat and low fan speed. I section carefully. There is a tutorial on line called "Salon In Your Home" and it's a guy named Travis George who is a salon owner. He has a girl do her own hair from completely wet to completely dry. She shows how to section and dry. I use this myself with great results. He is narrating while she is teaching. I feel even ethnic hair with enough Wen leave in can achieve these results. I still have some frizz but not too much. As soon as the humidity goes down the frizz goes away. Actually I got a compliment this morning on my hair. I had just dried it and I used that tutorial. It's not hard, if I can do it anyone can. There is also another which is more involved that I tried and is really good but I'm just not that skilled at it. It takes many years if you have not been to school, which I haven't. I know it's VERY frustrating, frizz. I still battle it. I feel your pain. I, myself am not willing to use any hair product but Wen. That's just my choice. I know the other posters use other things but to each their own. It's fun reading everyone's thoughts.

If you don't want to wear your hair curly most of the time, and prefer a smoother, wavy look, and don't have an objection to another chemical process, I really would recommend a chemical straightening from a good stylist. Someone above does the Brazilian, and I have a Japanese (Yuko) process done, which leaves my hair with body, but no frizz--at least not until a lot of my roots grow in, but the weight of my hair helps to smooth that out.

I think perception of frizz varies along with perception of scent, but the solution depends upon the texture of your hair and the way you want it to look.

There are many good suggestions here--and I used to do curly girl stuff all of the time, but getting my hair straightened has saved me hundreds of hours of fooling around with my hair. It's not for everyone, but I absolutely love it, and my hair looks and feels really great--from the roots to the ends.

I have good hair habits, keeping heat to a minimum and using my WEN--and before that, other good products--but the WEN has been the icing on the cake. It definitely holds my color, and has simplified my routine. I thoroughly enjoy using it! I also love this forum.

I'm glad you like the forum, I do too. It's fun for me.

I just found a new product that I want to share with all the curly haired girls. I always had waves in my hair but not really much curl. I washed my hair with baby shampoo and then I used ""organic coconut milk nOurishing serum. I used about 2 pumps and I put it on the ends of my hair and my hair curled up. I bought it at eslgreens for $5.99. They also sell it on amazon

I misspelled Walgreen's in prior post. Also the organic coconut serum helps with frizz.

I was pressed for time the other day and I cleansed and air dried. I found out, use more styling creme and a lot of mousse and shape your hair the way you want it, make sure you do this soaking wet but blot with paper towel so you are not dripping anyway, take the hair away from the scalp for more lift, shape it and part it where you want it, make sure you scrunch in the mousse every where on head and then DO NOT TOUCH until dry. It worked pretty good for me, really. This was a great thread, thanks to all who posted. xo

I'm in one of the humidity belts and I am finding this year that the Finishing Cream is my friend. I am using this instead of SC.

I get frizz in winter, and even with Wen, sometimes I get too much frizz (I have wavy fine hair but it frizz up sometimes.)

Finishing cream is great. They send out too big a tube in that TSV selection for my tastes, but if you have curlier or coarser hair, I could see it would be a big help to have a lot of it.

The other thing that may work is the ReMoist. It put too much moisture in my hair but it might help with frizz. My former stylist used to tell me to put mayonnaise in a pack on my hair because it would be such a rat's nest when I came in for a cut.

Another help is a satin pillowcase! That was another issue I had with frizz.
