I had some white buildup on my scalp which I could not seem to get rid of. I don't think it's dandruff, eczema or psoriasis since it does not itch or have white flakes all over my hair or clothes. Anyways I found this product at Wal-Mart called TriDerma Itchy Scalp Relief. You use it twice per week to remove buildup. I have been using it & it seems to be working. I use it twice per week in place of my shampoo. My scalp & hair feels so clean. It's like it removed all the product buildup also & my hair feels/seems thicker. They also make a shampoo & many other products in case anyone is having similar problems. It's also color safe. Left my hair soft. I thought being the type product it is it would leave my hair really dry but it did not.
I'm posting this since I have read posts from people asking for this type product.
I need to email my sister about it. She has been having all kinds of problems with her scalp since menopause & been using that stinky coal tar.

@software I was having issues back when I tried Wen. I had super oily hair then & no matter what I did the next day my hair looked ok but after that it looked like an oil slick. Now I have really dry hair. I guess after menopause everything is dry. I just came across this stuff & glad I did. I have tried so many products to remove the buildup & nothing worked.
I still use Wen oils. Just ordered the large 319 body butter to try. It was sold out when I checked but saw it came back in stock. I also bought a Lodis pouch/crossbody that's on clearance so I could use the $15 cash back from Q shopping thru RetailMeNot.

Yes, menopause stinks big time.
It's like aliens take our bodies and give us a reject!
Let me now how you like the body butter, I haven't tried any 319 yet.
Good score on the crossbody!

Thanks! I will try it. I do not have white stuff but my head sure itches.
I will put in another plug for Andrew's Hair Skin and Nails.
I have hair AGAIN!!!! woo hoo!!! and it no longer feels like there are only 3 hairs between my fingers. 2 caps a day.

I never had scalp issues in my life until menopause reared her ugly head and messed with my hormones. Now, I have psoriasis in my scalp and ears. Lots of women have scalp issues when meno sets in so says my dermotologists' PA. Lovely. Thanks for the tip. I haven't heard of this product and might give it a try. I did try WEN TT but it was a no go.

@Nightowlz, This is an easy fix and you have it at home. Last week my scalp was drying me crazy with itching. I thought to myself "buildup" so I got the Apple Cider vinegar out (one half vinegar; 1/2 water) shampoo your hair and rinse with the solution and then rinse again with clear water. No more itching. I was a happy scalper. ![]()

@Lapdog I have been taking his HHS&N for several years now. I can tell it makes my hair grow longer faster but as far as filling in where my hair was falling out it has not. I started taking his Vit E which I think is helping. I think my follicles will be open & able to grow after removing the buildup. I need to go order his Turmeric & Ginger while it's this month's special before the 20% off coupon expires.

@Katcat1 I tried that plus all kinds of other store bought & home remedies. So far nothing but this has worked for me plus it's not drying like some things I tried. I think my buildup problem started when I started using conditioner on top of my head instead of just the ends. I used to use leave in spray conditioner & never had a problem until I started using regular conditioner. I still think it's menopause/hormone related. Same with my sister. Hers all started after menopause plus having shingles on her scalp/face & neck.

I think part of your problem is Andrew's product. I was using it years ago, and my head itched even worse than it does now. It's the biotin in it that made my scalp itch terribly. I ran out of it on vacation and my itching was still there but nowhere near as bad.
I had to stop using all products with biotin--any healthy hair skin and nails complex. I tried to rechallenge with other biotin products, and the same thing happened.
I have found some relief with the Neutrogena shampoo with salicylic acid in it. My derm recommended it. She also recommend ketoconozale shampoo (Nizoral) as itching is often due to yeast.
Avoid biotin and use a product that removes buildup like salicylic acid.
I can't use coal tar as it discolors hair and I pay too much for highlights.
