I saw on youtube last week many of the beauty channels saying you do not need skincare!

Saying it is ruining the skin. That you dont need a cleanser or so many products.

I was wondering how do you remove makeup if you dont use a cleanser? Plus my skin would be super dry without skincare.

Yikes lol.

Dove beauty bar soap and Oil of Olay facial wash.  Then my Great Grandmother down to Grandmother then Mother's favorite moisturizer Oil of Olay. that is it.  At 62 not one crows feet yet.  Genetics plays a big part.

@CherryHugs   Don't believe everything you see and read. A good, simple skincare routine will serve you well as you age. It's more important than any makeup you'd use to start the day or cleanse at night. Stay with what you're using. They don't call YTubers influencers for nothing.

I have heard you can overdo using many products on  your face--not sure what was included in their list--but phooey on them!!! You can overdo drinking too much water too. Am very happy with my regime--my face hasn't peeled off yet!!! Woman Wink

They can certainly say anything they want, but doesn't mean I'm going to listen or agree or change what I'm doing  I have no intention of stopping my skin care.

I'm sure I overdo it in some people's opinions, but I'm not stopping.  I've often said, I enjoy doing my skincare routines and my results are all the proof I need to know I'm doing something right.  Even if some of the ingredients are questionable, if they aren't hurting me, then so what?!

@CherryHugs @I actually agree that the less you "do", the better. I've never been regular about my face care (I have no routine) and I believe that's been the secret to my skin looking as good as it does. Sunscreen is the only thing that I think should be routine, but I don't even do that regularly as I'm almost always indoors. Good genes may also play a big part....but I can personally attest that not doing too much to my face has served me very well.

YouTube has some funny ones for sure.  Eye rolling junk.

There is this Indian doctor woman who pops up on my facebook feed talking about how if you use a lot of moisturizer, you skin stops moisturizing itself, that the mechanism shuts down or something.  She also has ways to get rid of sun spots and so on and so on.  I always get sucked into these click bait videos that go on and on and then try to sell you something.  I don't know if any of what she said is true as they all sound so legit.  Anyway, I am not getting sucked into those anymore.  But I am open to the fact that the skincare and beauty companies care much more about making money than helping us look our best.

You can't believe everything you see on YouTube. I love you tube and I love watching Beauty and Skin Care channels.  You know what your skin needs or at least you're in the process of learning. I have super dry skin and use a lot of hydrating products on it so it's not super dry anymore.  They can't speak for everyone, it's generalized. Take what you need from YouTube and leave the rest. Same for a makeup look you might see but think you're too old to wear it. You're not, just tweak it a little and make it your own. I don't know if it's the case with this particular video but I think sometimes  beauty influencers just run out of things to talk about and when one starts a new topic they all jump on it.
