SKINN by Dimitri James vs Dr Denese

So...I have been using Dr Denese for over a year. Hydroshield, Triple Strength Face & Neck Wrinkle Smoother, Peptide and Firming Pads Both and Neurotrophic as well. Well guess what?!? After watching Dimitri James and reading up on ingredients, all the reviews, as well as Paula's, I decided to give it a try. I got the Dermappeal, Collagenesis 24 Hr YPC & Ampules, Crease Release Day, along w his SPF 30 Anti-Aging Sunscreen and Intellitent CC. I'm 44 y/o normal skin w no acne or enlarged pores. I have terrible 11's, some pretty obvious vertical lip lines and am beginning to sag a bit along the jaw. I use my Clarisonic and whatever cleanser I happen to have recently purchased. Thoughts after ONE WEEK---I have seen more of an improvement in ALL my wrinkles and skin tone. This is after giving Denese a solid year to improve my skin. I love her and her products but never saw anything close to the results I am getting from SKINN. Really impressed although I felt a bit like I was buying my skincare at a flea market-just seems "cheap"-almost feel bad saying that but he is quite a character and w the exception of Heather Hall, I just can't tolerate the ShopHQ hosts and their constantly amazed gasps. My PMD is useless now using the Dermappeal. I have not tried Dr Denese's MD33 and am still considering it based on the reviews. Anybody else out there using SKINN or the MD33 that has comparison??? Apologies for typos-cannot type on tiny phone.

LOL! Melissa (I think that's her name) is the worst!! Honestly, I have a hard time with Heather, too. I've kind of warmed up to that nutty Connie Kunkle, though. She makes me laugh sometimes.

BUT I love Dimitri and I use several SKINN products and like them very much. I can't compare the Dr. Denese item you are talking about, but I did use her products several years ago for a bit and did not like them.

Most of the SHQ hosts irritate me -- doesn't stop me from buying, though!

Happy to hear you're happy with Skinn. I'm a recent convert myself, but only with a few of the products. Dimitri's products -- like any line's products -- are hit and miss. Some work, some don't. I envy those who love every single item in one line. :-)

Re: SKINN by Dimitri James vs Dr Denese

I tried Dr. Denese's basic products for a few months with no significant results. I saw obvious results a week after trying Skinn, and have been a faithful follower ever since. I don't usually watch the programs anymore, but rather just scan what's available on-line when I know he's coming, to take advantage of any specials or good deals. If it's a product I'm not sure of, I'll go ahead and watch the video that goes along with the product, but not very often. Glad to hear you've had good results like I've had!

I think their ingredients are comparable and certainly Skinn gives a lot more bang for your buck.

Re: SKINN by Dimitri James vs Dr Denese

I recently returned a supersized Dr D kit to QVC because I couldn't stand the tinted day cream ( went on dry and thick and made my skin look an odd shade of light orange) so I knew I'd never use it. As for the Hydroshield , I always had misgivings about the first ingredient being Dimethicone. Just didn't like the idea of coating my face in it day and night. The Firming pads are okay as an exfoliator but I did not feel or notice any type of firming. Her products are expensive and I just didn't feel like I loved them enough or saw such outstanding results after several months of use that I wanted to keep using them. I think Dimitri has great cleansers, love the Dermapeel and several of the creams. I think he uses very good ingredients, explains why he uses them and you get a great deal when he is on air.

Re: SKINN by Dimitri James vs Dr Denese

I've tried three Dr Denese kits and returned two of them. I know she has her fans but I'm not one of them. I just didn't find these products anything special and found her creams much too heavy for me -- but I tend to prefer Perricone and Isomers which are definitely lighter yet moisturizing. I've just started using some Skinn products and (other than a couple of bad pumps) I am really liking a few of them -- especially the Stem Rejen for the Eye and the Chin-Up. They feel really rich and creamy without being heavy.

Re: SKINN by Dimitri James vs Dr Denese

Update. It's been only 4 days since I asked for advice re Skinn vs Denese. Yay for the comments. Agree with all about the hosts on ShopHQ :-) I watch Lisa Robinson because she can make the frumpiest smock they sell look good. I have to remind myself it absolutely would not look like that on me. Back to Dimitri and I'm surprised and pleased to say that more results are showing. One of my 12 y/o daughters is my "wrinkle meter" and monitors my 11 lines. Yesterday she said "Hey, that guy's [Skinn] stuff is working. I have ordered more Dermappeal. A good scrub is hard to find and I think I'll be selling my PMD or just using the body heads. FYI-Dermappeal has Peppermint oil so go easy if your an eye wrinkle scrubber and it does not taste as good as it smells. I did also try SSC Pumpkin Scrub which tasted fabulous but was a greasy mess-btw I do not eat my skincare but I scrub my lips too. So my next purchase may be the Deep Wrinkle Protocol Line Peel and Line Erasing Serum. It's hard to tell if it's a temp or long term treatment or it may be both. Also the Stem Regen Serum. Still on the fence with Denese MD33 but I like to give products a good 3 months to work. I love the reviews where people used it for 2 weeks and give a bad review. I wouldn't care so much but this skincare gets expensive when you're on a quest

I'm glad you are happy with SKINN. The line gets a lot of great reviews.

I saw no results at all using Dr. D products. I do see results with some of the SKINN products.

I've been tempted by Isomers. I wish they would put more ingredients in one bottle so I could afford it. I do love Manuela(sp) she is a doll and very confident in her line and it gets stellar reviews. I also got a couple of bumps when I started incorporating the Skinn 24hr YPC. I think I underestimated how thick it was. The Crease Release AM sinks right in. I do love that-even though Paula('s Choice) does not. I read her reviews with a grain of salt. A fabulous product with one drop of fragrance gets a poor rating and she's quite cynical. I like fragrance and don't have sensitive skin. the Stem Rejen for face and Chin-Up Redensify are on my list to try soon. Thanks!
