I'm already working out more and spending less. Less fat on me and more green in the household's checking account...it's a good thing.
We paid off our mortgage in early December. Just before the 1st, I finally finished a detailed budget for our household. It's the first one we have ever had in place in 26 years of marriage. I placed our credit cards in the home safe. We are strictly debit card for the next 3 months, for the first quarter 2015. I need to see if we can stick to it. Then we can go forward still sticking to it and use the credit cards again to pay for everything, including monthly bills, in order to pay in full each month while earning lots of points and avoiding an annual fee to boot. I use the points from Citi through their thank you rewards program for Wal Mart gift cards that I use for groceries.
I like "mean & green in 2015 too!
Your points from Citi is a great idea.

One day at a time. I haven't bought anything in three days. That's the good news. Bad news is I've been sick and sleeping around the clock. Not that that hasn't stopped me in the past.

Good Sunday Morning to all!!
I cannot believe that I have not ONCE gone to the QVC homepage to see what's on sale or for sale. It has literally been years since I haven't checked out QVC. So glad to have this forum in my favorites tab so it's easy to just come here.
I unsubscribed to all emails from QVC, but it was hard to do so! Kept getting a notice that they were "unavailable at this time" but I kept trying and finally got it done.
Today my husband and I are going to start on the garage to get it organized. It's not terribly bad, but I do need to get some things in their proper place.
I know I've said it before here, but I'm so happy to have this thread to read everyday. You all have helped and inspired me to stop wasting my money and to start organizing and donating what I don't need.
Thank you
Vicki![]()

LOL, so funny, I came to this thread this morning to check in on what others are doing (to get some inspiration), and saw this. Ha Ha, don't know why I typed mean & green. I meant LEAN & GREEN.
At any rate, at this point not sure what I will be doing today as I am not feeling much pep or energy so far, but it's early. I'll clear out something, even if it is a small drawer. Gotta keep it going, every day.

This saved me from being tempted to buy...un-subscribing from several company's e-mails. I would get over 50- e-mails a day from places like Estee Lauder, Lancome, Elizabeth Arden, plus all the craft places. Suddenly there would be a free gift with purchase or yarn would be half price. I would spend a lot of time figuring out what to buy just to meet the minimum purchase requirement for the free gift. I didn't need anything, but boy, that free gift was quite the deal! I'd get the goodies and shove them away in a drawer. So I un-subscribed, and no more temptation. Saved a ton of money.

I also spent a couple of hours yesterday organizing and cleaning my kids' playroom in the basement. We moved a bookcase so they would have a place for all their Skylander figures and organized everything else, plus I dusted and vacuumed down there. My husband wanted to buy a bookcase, but they already had one in there, it just needed to be moved and some of the stuff re-arranged, so we saved the money not buying a bookcase and saved not adding to the clutter in there. Win-win!
I didn't actually declutter a whole lot, found a few small odds and ends to toss and a couple things to donate, mostly just cleaned and organized. But hopefully it will now be more user friendly for them and they will keep it a little more picked up. Then again, probably not, but a mom can dream right?

Yes I did that a few years ago, and keep my mailbox as lean as possible only my fave stores.
