Thank you for the suggestion! I just did the same.

I really feel like the weight of the television has been lifted off of my shoulders since I am
not buying everything that comes along. Wise decision by all that made it.

I can now see AND stand on the closet floor I mentioned in earlier post ~ Yippee! Still have a bit more to do in there, but a huge dent has been made ~ two large bags of donations ~
LOL Irish, I read your other post when you were talking about your closet and am now so happy that you have discovered your floor again.

Thanks, Morgana! I have my new motto... Lean and green in 2015.
I'm already working out more and spending less. Less fat on me and more green in the household's checking account...it's a good thing.
We paid off our mortgage in early December. Just before the 1st, I finally finished a detailed budget for our household. It's the first one we have ever had in place in 26 years of marriage. I placed our credit cards in the home safe. We are strictly debit card for the next 3 months, for the first quarter 2015. I need to see if we can stick to it. Then we can go forward still sticking to it and use the credit cards again to pay for everything, including monthly bills, in order to pay in full each month while earning lots of points and avoiding an annual fee to boot. I use the points from Citi through their thank you rewards program for Wal Mart gift cards that I use for groceries.

That was great. I personally follow the trash chute theory of ownership otherwise known as instantaneous buyer's remorse and mail my stuff to people around the country. LOL!

I was going to order 3 large storage bags that were on one of the ""organization"" shows on QVC this past week. Decided they would be more clutter than help so I didn't order and saved around $40.

To me it means...lean, as in paring down excess stuff...and green, as in more money in my bank account from being mindful of what I buy. Great minds think alike! I starting organizing my cosmetics today and will be parting with some. Want to organize for ease of use and to finish up some and then not rebuy that particular product/brand again. Will take me a while to use up what I have (especially the ones I no longer like a lot) so no more buying until I really, really have a need.
