Good Monday morning all! So I'm into the 3rd week of my capsule wardrobe and I think I've only repeated a top once. Bottoms--I tend to circle through 3 pairs of jeans--two boot cuts and one skinny from Kohls.
I bought a new bed this weekend, but unfortunately, it won't be delivered until this coming Sunday. But I still had to get the bed skirt off the current mattress to wash before the new bed gets to my house. That's quite a project when you live by yourself! I decided to see what else was under the bed. I store my flannel sheets and an old afghan my mom made me that is falling apart, but I just can't get rid of it. They are in a storage bag so are protected. I found a massage mat that had a half inch of dust on it, so I guess I don't use that very much and a narrow tote full of tops. I looked at them and wouldn't wear any of them today, so I started my next bag for donation.
Then there was the under the kitchen sink project. How does all that stuff get there? It filled up a large tote which is in my garage. Seriously, I don't need to buy sponges or all purpose cleaner for the next 10 years at least. It was crazy. I also took most of the stuff out of my hanging shoe bag in the pantry and put in the tote. The stuff that remains under the sink is cleanser, dishwasher soap, the refill for my dish soap and one all purpose cleaner.
One interesting note--when I had my appraisal done last month, I put a lot of stuff into garbage bags so that surfaces were cleared off. I'm finding I don't miss any of it, so I need to look through the stuff one last time and then it can be gone.

Hello all. Checking in here on the new and improved(??) community.
For the second time in three months I must have the house appraised: in March it was for mortgage refi, this week it's for town wide tax revaluation. That will keep me honest, LOL!
Trying to do smaller projects now that summer is finally here. I will fill a small box with the contents of a drawer or basket and sort through it while watching TV in the evening. Committed to doing something large or small almost every day. Also being brutal about clothing and shoes. If I don't love it now, I don't love it enough- it's gotta go. On the surface, my house looks clean and presentable, but I know I can do better and feel lighter.

Good Morning Everyone!
I'm hoping this week I can get to a lot of the things I had listed while I was out of town this weekend. It's not a long list, but it is a tedious one. I also found out that when I did my massive cleanup, I stored stuff so well, that I forgot where they now were. LOL No worries, though, for me, because it afforded me the opportunity to reassess those things on my list.
DrKelli, I'm glad you were able to finally tackle that space under your kitchen sink. Thankfully, mine is still in great order.
Speaking of mortgages and the like, I am in the process of finally establishing a timeframe for my future move. I've narrowed it down to 2017, which does and doesn't give me suffcient time to complete the weeding out but at least now I can be more diligent about the whole thing. I'll be moving from my rather large apartment to a townhouse in another state so its going to be quite the project. I'm vividly recalling the last time I moved and packed all by myself and said "I'm never going to keep so much junk so that if I move again, I won't have to pack so much!" I'm aiming to keep true to that statement, but let's see how it plays out.
I hope we all have a productive week!
And BTW, this new forum format isn't my favorite. LOL
Regards,
Jolexi

Yeah, it seems more cluttered, no pun intended, but it is what it is.

I bought a few things this week on QVC...I held out a long time but, old habits die hard.
I got an Isaac watch on clearance, a Tig bucket bag, and a set of 2 Stan Herman lounge dresses. The dresses were sorely needed and the others are going to be a "swap" of sorts. I gathered up some of my watches and bags that I am done with that are ebay resaleable and I'm listing them today to make back some of the cash I spent. I've done this a few times before and it's my way of not having to store too much or spend too much. My way to recycle. LOL!

Out with the old and in with the new. Cleared out the linen closet last week and all of the sheets in the house were shot and long overdue to be replaced so I ordered some new ones on an excellent sale from Target.com for our master bedroom and my son's room, too. I got the 10% discount they were offering with a code provided by them on the site and they also let me use a coupon I got on-line for another $5 off. They came today. I'll be laundering 2 sets for him and 2 sets for us tomorrow since I had an already busy day today but, I can hardly wait to put the news ones on the beds tomorrow!
I love new sheets and I always wanted purple sheets as a girl and never got them. Now I have them...Lilac. Hubby just said "Do whatever you want" when I asked about ordering the color since we usually have some off white or beigy looking ones. I finally wore him down...LOL! It's the small victories that really count.

Haha, Anotherview! Small victories indeed. I actually have a set of purple sheets too! They are the coolmax from Kohls or whatever they are called. I don't know that they really keep me all that much cooler though. My new bed is due to be delivered on Sunday so I am looking forward to that.
Well, I had a shirt in my capsule wardrobe that I put on today and it annoyed me so bad, I changed shirts and put that one in my donate bag. I've had that shirt at least 7 or 8 years and used to wear it all the time, but when you are trying to get down to things you love--things that annoy you cannot remain in the closet. Today's outfit is a shirt that was not originally in my capsule, but I have gotten rid of a couple of shirts, so it can go into the rotation, boot cut jeans and vionic sandals. The sandals were not originally in the rotation, but we've hit some warmer weather, so I can add them. I really don't see me getting rid of any shoes though and I need to find some way to change that. There is a stack of boot boxes in my garage that I can probably get rid of because I did not wear them last winter.
One thing I am going to go through is my 'shape wear'. I can't even tell you why I have so much of it. I used to wear a shaping camisole every day when I had all the stress belly, but that has actually gone away since i left my horrible job a little over a year ago. I wear them occasionally when I have something a little more form fitting on and I need the smoothing effect, but trust me, I don't need all of what I have.
Oh, and guess what--I don't miss any of the kitchen towels I donated last week and I'm so happy my laptop has a home where they used to be!
Have a great day, y'all!

@DrKelli Hoping you get some great sleep from the new bed. I know its likely been tough with the pain. Hope you get some well needed relief!
