We are entering our second week of SIMPLIFYING our lives. It's been 17 days since I ordered from the Q. I blocked the channel on my tv and am committed to spending less and not buying items I just don't need.
We have so many ladies (maybe a few gents?) who post for support and I read every post and you all inspire me. Has it been really easy to resist buying? No, but I read everyone's stories and you help me resist.
Will we completely stop buying? No, but hopefully, we will think long and hard about every purchase. We will learn to appreciate what we have and quit collecting things like jewelry, handbags etc.
How is everyone doing this week?

I've just reached the point in my life, where I don't really need more handbags, botox, new cars, etc. 2015, is our year to put more in my saving accounts, and not Macy's, Kohls, or QVC. Now, if I could just keep my husband off ebay.

I'm happy with my progress in de-cluttering, still have a way to go, but feel I'm up for it ~ check in with my gal-pals here on this thread often throughout the day. By reading others' stories, suggestions, successes and pitfalls my energy level and enthusiasm have soared!
I love the idea of SIMPLIFYING and I am adding SHEDDING to my overall goal!
I want to SHED stuff, pounds, debt!
Appreciate all that is offered in this group ~ Thanks to everyone for the support

It will happen though, I firmly believe we are all on the right road to a more simple life in every way. Haven't posted with you ladies before about this topic but I did cancel my last Philosophy Auto-Delivery. I still love Philosophy but have so much to use up. It was a TSV and a hard one to cancel but I did it. Have a few Auto-Deliveries left and will probably cancel those in a week or two. I am near retirement so need to really think wisely about purchases. I did make one purchase as a birthday present to me, from me, and also for my 20 year anniversary of working at my place of employment.

If I do spend online, I always use ebates! I get a lot of stuff, necessities, from drugstore.com. I have shoprunner and get free shipping. I get 4% back for buying there!
One day, when the kids are out of the house and we want to downsize, we will have to get rid of all of our "stuff" It doesn't matter how big your house is, you ALWAYS find a way to fill it up. It's so liberating when you can get rid of stuff. We have a thrift shop we donate to. I'd much rather do that than have a yard sale.
I love reading all of the suggestions and ideas. They really do help!

Hello Everyone! These posts have been so very helpful to me....not just when I read them but have also been able to keep them in my head for "self-talk!"
However, I am in a very stressful profession and after returning to work yesterday from some much needed time off over the holidays, I am already struggling with all-or-nothing thinking. Examples: some guilt feelings for purchasing ANYTHING, including essentials (yikes: we will soon need toilet paper! LOL!)...."need" to organize EVERYTHING all at once....feeling a little annoyed with myself for tossing work things down on my newly organized desk at home vs. putting them away. Ugh.
Thank you in advance for any thoughts/suggestions! Hope all of you are doing well!
