Is the print getting smaller on this forum....or is it just my old eyes?????

Sometimes, I accidentally hit the wrong button and the print gets smaller. If you press

Ctrl and the + symbol at the same time, it will get bigger. If it gets too big, hit Ctrl and the - minus symbol.

3redheads: You are a GENIUS! Thank you so much for your help. You have simplified my life in a whole new way. I am always in awe of people who are computer savvy.

Can you tell me what I do to make it happen so I will know not to do that again?

Thanks again for your help. The gift of knowledge lasts forever!

Oops! I got carried away...now my print is as big as my hips! {#emotions_dlg.lol}

{#emotions_dlg.laugh} Havarti,

You gave me the best laugh of the day!

If the print is too big, hit Ctrl and the minus symbol, right next to the zero. Hope this helps!

3redheads: You told me that the first time...what an idiot I am. If only my hip size could be adjusted so easily. Thanks again for your help and for your patience with me.

My journey started this week, first I have to get this house cleaned & then tackle the organization

I did get a thorough clean to one bedroom, bathrooms & kitchen (rugs, floors, dust)

This coming week I will tackle the paper piles, THIS IS MY PROBLEM area, but I am determined

Then my "dump" extra bedrooms, just wish it was warmer here, so cold to go into those closed door bedrooms

For me, to simplify & spend less I need to be organized, then I will feel more in control, I am sure some understand....like others say shop your own stuff and when your own stuff is organized you can see what you have & not look on the floor, oh, where is it, in what pile? in what drawer? LOL

Congrats AnnMarie-1, you're off to a great start!!! I know what you mean about the paper piles, I have had many! Finally got rid of all of them with my last move, so now I just have to take care of paper things as they come in; either file where it needs to be or shred. If I don't do it the instant it comes into the house, I end up with piles again! My apartment is so small, it has forced me to keep it under control, which I'm really happy about.

I read this on Dave Ramsey's site and love it, I think it can apply to more than debt!!!

"Back in the old days, when a pirate ship was trying to outrun somebody, they would dump all the stuff they didn't need over the side of the boat to get more speed. When you are a gazelle running away from the cheetah (i.e. your debt), you need to cut the lifestyle and dump the unnecessary stuff. Your burden will be much lighter, and you'll be debt-free that much faster. "

Thanks for the encouragement, and quote, lighter is better, SO much better!!!

I plan to someday in the not so distant future sell this big house & live smaller, so I hear you on how space could make my unorganized ways be a problem, easy when you have empty rooms to dump it in and I have 2400 SF to spread my wealth LOL

We plan on moving and downsizing in the next 6 years. We've made a list of what we need to do to the house in order to sell for the most money. I'd rather spend my money on something I'll get a return on.

It's amazing how much stuff you accumulate. We have so much stuff WE DON'T NEED! We started tossing and donating. Now the kid's rooms...shudder at those messes.

I have a decision to make this week. I will soon be running out of my cleansing oil and will not spend $48 on Tachta cleanser. I started reading Paula's Best list and there are a lot of cleansers that are so much more affordable. Tiny steps, right?

Been enjoying reading all your posts. One thing we do which saves a lot of money is purchase most of our household cleaning supplies at the dollar store. I am always amazed at what they stock....I get my shower spray, Comet cleanser, scrubby sponges, dish detergent, and sheets for my Swiffer there....all for a dollar each. Sure is cheaper than picking up the same things at the grocery store.

Cleaned my closet (again!) and dropped off 6 bags at Goodwill yesterday. The closet is now pared down so all seasons of my wardrobe fit in that closet and two dressers in my room....no more seasonal "swap" from other closets! I intend to pare it down a little bit further soon. DH plans on retiring next month, and his first project is going to be ripping out the bedroom carpets and putting in hardwood floors. That will mean deep-cleaning and purging in all bedrooms, and I look forward to that!

Thanks for all the inspiration.

Re: SIMPLIFY 2015-Week 2-all can join! Support for those who want to spend less

I noticed many of you like to read. You need to check out on Amazon the top 100 free kindle books each day or just do a search on Amazon for free e-books. I have found some real gems, some that went to a $9 price a day or two after I got it free. You can also search by category. Just for fun one day when I was bored, I went through one year of free books I had downloaded, and compared them to the current price. The free books I had gotten were now totaling $270+ compared to the year I got them free.

If you have the urge to shop, buy and click "buy" this is a great way to satisfy that urge. If you don't like the free book after you have downloaded it, then just delete it. I have discovered some great authors doing this. Sometimes, they will offer a free book from a noted author (rare) to hook you into buying more from that author. Sometimes, an author will have a series of books, but they will offer the first in the series to introduce you to the series.

These can be downloaded to your Kindle or Kindle app on a tablet or computer. There were free books on organizing at one time. Searching free books will keep the hands and mind busy, and if you get one or two, you still have the "thrill" of the purchase at no cost.

Just caught up on this thread. This one didn't even go a full week before someone started another one.

Hi all,

It's been 12 QVC-free days for me now!! I don't miss it and feel like I am really saving money and return postage.

Good luck on Week 3 ladies!
