Re: SHOULD NOT HAVE GONE THERE!

Yup! Nordstrom's makeup area is gorgeous! High end makeup, and personnel that are very happy to show you their products, and provide you with samples. I have to say I like Nordstrom's make up department better than Sephora. But that's just me.

Re: SHOULD NOT HAVE GONE THERE!

I tend to avoid makeup counters in department stores.  I prefer to browse on my own and don't want sales people hovering over me.

@Shanus  Oh, you lucky girl !  Used to be one of my all time favorite things to do but retired and built on land over 100 miles from these great b&m stores. Just not the same on line... keep us posted and keep enjoying.

@Shanus  - Since you didn't post a pic of your eyeshadow palette,  I thought I would.

I always love to see what is new, test things out and even enjoy the salespeople.  I do wish brand identity was stronger as in the past to draw you to the proper counter. Brands are sort of "homogenized" especially in Sephora and Ulta so I prefer department store when possible.

About 10 years ago Chanel relaunched those quad shadows, prior to that time USA had a different formulation than every other country.  Our (USA) shadows were like butter with excellent pigmentation, just gorgeous, I believe the newer shadows are baked.  You can recognize the original USA shadows because they were squarish and had a higher fill weight than the others although from the outside the compact looked the same.

A busy day at my house finding things to do for the GDs. They're here until tomorrow nite. After breakfast, we're going up to my studio topaint and I took down my beads, findings so they can make friendship bracelets. Baking's on the schedule this afternoon. Strong storms, tornadoes, hail headed this way (maybe) today and hope we don't lose power.

Did they have fun at the makeup counter too?

@Spacrazy   Great to be retired and I'd love to have land around me instead of houses so close they can look in my windows......Makeup is good, but your deal sounds better.
